Tuesday, August 28, 2018, H-TECH eleventh graders began college courses at El Centro College West Campus. Students this semester are taking courses in Business Management and Information Technology. Students are excited they get to partake in a true college experience.

Our newest industry partner, Celanese, welcomed H-TECH students on the first day of school!! Celanese representatives greeted students as they entered the hallways of H-TECH to attend their first class of the school year. They also went visited classrooms to give students well wishes for a successful school year. Thank you Celanese!!!

H-TECH students participated in a field trip Gulfstream Aerospace and Frontier Flight Museum. Students took a tour of Frontier of Flight Museum, a Flight 101 Class, and Gulfstream Aerospace. They observed how jets are made from the time they are flown to the USA from Israel to the finish product. The purpose of this field trip is to increase the number of minorities and females interested in the field of aviation.

Tuesday, August 7, 2018 @ Southern Methodist University, Dallas ISD P-TECH/ECHS Executive Directors, Principals, Assistant Principals, Counselors, and Industry Partners were invited to celebrate the success of this initiative and continue the momentum into this school year. Roosevelt H-TECH junior, Jasmine Sanchez, was featured by our district for her summer internship with Celanese. She did a 3 minute presentation about her experience with Celanese.

On Saturday, September 15, 2018, 16 H-TECH students participated UT Southwestern's 2018 Careers in Biomedical

Sciences Symposium. During this symposium students were able hear from to biomedical students from several different universities in the medical district. The highlight of this experience was students being able to see and touch an elephant heart and view a human heart with cardiomyopathy. Thank you to Dr. Ashley Fiamengo (H-TECH Science Teacher), Ida Henry ( H-TECH Workplace Learning Coordinator) and UTSW Medical Centers STARS Program for their support. Our Health Sciences students benefitted greatly from this opportunity.

This summer our rising juniors had an opportunity to participate in summer internships with our industry partner, Celanese, advisory board member. Joe Atkins with Joe Atkins Realty, Inc., and the Dallas Summer Mayor’s Internship program. Congratulations to these students. They are truly setting the standard for Franklin D. Roosevelt H-TECH Mustangs. The students and their assignments are listed below:
