LIS Tiger Talk
November 3, 2023
Principal's Message
Tiger Families,
I hope you've had a wonderful week. As we were reminded on Halloween night, we are certainly starting to experience some colder weather. Please try to make sure your student brings a coat, jacket, hoodie, or something long sleeve with them. As a mom and principal, I completely understand some of our students will wear shorts all year round and getting a hoodie on them is a success. We will have students go outside or recess even when it is cold out.
Just a reminder, conferences with parents/guardians are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday after school. It's a great opportunity to discuss your child's progress and address any questions or concerns you may have. If you have any questions about conferences, please reach out to our staff.
Lastly, a quick reminder that there will be no school on Friday. Enjoy the long weekend and hope you had a spooktacular Halloween!

Conference Sign Ups
LIS conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, November 8th and Thursday, November 9th from 2:45-6:30 p.m. If you would like to schedule a conference with your student's team of teachers or a specials teacher, you will sign up using PTCFast program (link below).
Conference schedules are set-up for you to meet with your student's teaching team- duo (2 teachers) or trio (3 teachers). Conferences will last 10 minutes and can be held in-person or virtually. We will assume a conference is in-person unless it is requested to be virtual. If you are requesting a virtual conference, please make sure to note this in the special request box as "virtual conference" when selecting your time. If you choose to attend conferences virtually, teachers will email you the google meet link prior to your conference.
Please see the link below for step-by-step instructions and clarification of scheduling conferences with PTCFast.

Gifted Testing Offered at LIS
The state of Ohio requires that school districts provide an identification procedure for gifted/talented students. However, per the Ohio Department of Education, school districts are not required to serve. Click HERE to learn more about how Loveland serves gifted students. Loveland offers full grade testing in second and fourth grades. If students/parents/teachers wish to refer a student for gifted testing outside of the full-grade testing options, referral forms are available from the LIS School Counseling office. The referral testing options will take place on Monday, November 20, 2023 and again in February 2024. If you would like to refer your child for fall testing, the form is due to the LIS school counselor no later than November 9, 2023. Please email Robin Purdin at Purdinro@lovelandschools.org for more information.
