This is a such a priceless gift to families. Please use the link to our Amazon Wish List to help us help others! The musical for the 2023/2024 school year will be (drum roll....) The Little Mermaid! Any 5th - 8th grader is eligible to participate in various roles. Auditions will be held after school on November 14 and 15. The Little Mermaid production will take place on Friday, March 8. Rehearsals will begin the week of January 8 and run until the performance date. Rehearsals will be held after school from 3:00 - 5:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Your child may not be called for all of the rehearsals. An email will be sent out each Friday with the specific rehearsal schedule.
There will be a modest fee of $35 per performer. This does not apply to backstage helpers. The fee can be paid by cash or check sent into Julie Beeson or you can call the office to pay with a credit card. Please send in payment by Friday, December 15.
Participation Options:
1. Main Role - Anyone who would like to have a speaking part or sing a solo must audition. Auditions will be held November 14 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm in the Music Room. Please keep November 15 open from 3:00 - 4:00 pm. We will be emailing parents the evening of the 14th if we need to see their child again on the 15th.
2. Ensemble Member - Anyone who would like to participate as an ensemble member does NOT need to audition. These students will be a part of groups that sing and dance together during the performance (i.e. mermaids, sea creatures, townspeople.) Be prepared to start rehearsals the week of January 8th.
3. Backstage Helpers - We will need help with moving set pieces on and off stage, keeping the costumes organized, and general help during the performance. These students will not need to come to rehearsal until later in the process. Parents will be notified when these students need to start coming to rehearsals.
Please fill out the 3 following forms:
All students who will be involved, no matter their role, will need to have a parent fill out a Contact Information Form:
We ask that one adult from each family volunteer their time to help supervise the students at one of the rehearsal dates.

Keep in mind that putting on a production is a team effort. We understand that there may be an occasional rehearsal absence for illness, appointments, or other activities. Nevertheless, consistent attendance will be important. The production cannot be successful without committed performers. You can email Mrs. Buckel and Mrs. Eakman at DramaClub@holyname.cc with any questions.
