Greetings ACE family!

I hope you all had a wonderful winter break filled with yummy foods, lots of rest, and magical memories. I wish you all a fresh start with renewed energy and confidence as we undertake our new endeavours.

As we welcome our students back to school we are faced with some uncertainties regarding the ongoing pandemic however there is no doubt that our students resilience and optimism will lead to a successful year.

So cheers to the new year! May 2022 be an extraordinary one. Let's make it a priority to ACE our goals this new year!

Espero que todos hayan tenido unas maravillosas vacaciones de invierno llenas de deliciosas comidas, mucho descanso y recuerdos mágicos. Les deseo a todos un nuevo comienzo con renovada energía y confianza a medida que emprendemos nuestros nuevos esfuerzos.

Upcoming Events

This month all of our ACE campuses will be hosting an ACE parent/guardian information and re-enrollment night. Please make sure not to miss as this meeting is required to make sure your student remains in ACE.

*Dates may change, please communicate with your on-site coordinator for updated information. Some events will be held virtually and some in-person. You will receive event information via flyer and electronically from your campus on-site coordinator.

We had a Grinch-tastic time during our Grinch Holiday party last month. Thank you for everyone that participated and all your incredible donations. For those who were not able to make it we had a great time drawing the Grinch and doing a Grinchy science experiment. If you would like to get instructions to the activities we completed please reach out to your on-site coordinator.

With the beginning of a new year we are filled with the hopes and aspirations of what is to come. Having a visual representation of what they hope to accomplish is a great way to instill goal setting behavior, encouragement, and motivation to follow their dreams.

What is a Vision Board?

A Vision Board is a fun way to create and record future big dreams and goals. It can be used as an overview of what your child wants in their life. Instead of focusing on the "How" it focuses on the "What".

So, don't worry if your child's dreams and goals are unrealistic at this time. A Vision Board does not have a clear deadline, what may seem impossible now may very well be possible in 5 or 10 years.

This is about having fun and sitting with your child and setting your dreams and aspirations for this year. Maybe you want a big summer family vacation, go outside and play more often, or sleep under the stars!

Tips

1. Gather all those magazines and newspapers stacking up and begin cutting out pictures that represent you and your child's goals and dreams.

2. Keep it lighthearted and maintain a positive outlook.

3. It does not have to be perfect, let your child decide where to place the pictures.

4. Together pick out the best spot in your home to hang your Vision Board so that it is always in sight.

Con el comienzo de un nuevo año estamos llenos de esperanzas y aspiraciones de lo que está por venir. Tener una representación visual de lo que esperan lograr es una excelente manera de inculcar un comportamiento de establecimiento de metas, aliento y motivación para seguir sus sueños.

¿Qué es un tablero de visión?

Un tablero de visión es una forma divertida de crear y registrar grandes sueños y metas futuras. Se puede utilizar como una descripción general de lo que su hijo quiere en su vida. En lugar de centrarse en el "Cómo", se centra en el "Qué".

Por lo tanto, no se preocupe si los sueños y metas de su hijo no son realistas en este momento. Un Vision Board no tiene una fecha límite clara, lo que parece imposible ahora puede ser posible en 5 o 10 años.

Se trata de divertirse y sentarse con su hijo y establecer sus sueños y aspiraciones para este año. ¡Tal vez quieras unas grandes vacaciones familiares de verano, salir y jugar con más frecuencia o dormir bajo las estrellas!

Who is Martin Luther King Jr. and why do we celebrate him in January?

Martin Luther King Jr. (January 15, 1929—April 4, 1968) is considered one of history’s greatest speakers and social activists. His leadership in peaceful protests helped end segregation during the American civil rights movement.
