Parents and Guardians, please be reminded that you must present photo identification when picking up a student from school.

• Emergency contacts ARE NOT permitted to pick up students unless the parent/guardian notifies the school.
• Siblings who are not at least 18 years of age ARE NOT permitted to pick up students.

These requirements are meant to keep your child safe.

SMCPS and Margaret Brent Middle School in partnership with NAWCAD (Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division-Pax River) are proud to announce an afterschool opportunity for students in grades 6, 7, and 8th who may be interested in computer coding. Students will interact with naval engineers and participate in coding activities aimed at their experience level. This after-school coding session will meet for only 4 days beginning Wednesday, January 26, and continuing February 2, February 9, and February 16. The group will meet in the health classroom until 4:00 on each of the dates listed above. Participants will need to bring their school laptops to each session to participate. Parents will be able to pick up their children in the school foyer at 4:00. Space is limited! The first 30 students who return their signed permission form will be added to the program. Students should turn their permission forms into the main office.

Attention Students,

Are you interested in a winter intramural sport/activity? Pick up an application attached next to the gym doors or ask your PE teacher. Activities being offered during the winter season include floor hockey, badminton, 4 square/tabletop games, and basketball. All applications must be turned in by Friday, January 14th and only 24 participants will be allowed to participate in each activity being offered. Please return your permission slips to the staff member who will be coaching the particular activity you are interested in playing. Please note the days each is meeting to ensure you are available on those days.
