OCMS PTO Bulletin

October is here and there is finally a little breeze in the air. We are in full swing at OCMS PTO. Enjoy fall break this month and check out everything we have accomplished in September and what to expect this fall. Go Braves!

We accomplished our goal of $25,000 and we celebrated with a Pie in the Face for our administration at our September Pep Rally. The top students of each grade were awarded the chance to pie an administrator with our top student in the school pie-ing Mr. Stephens! Thank you for all of your contributions. We would not be able to help our school and our students without your contributions.

100% of your contributions to our fundraiser stays in our school. We were able use our budget to purchase a golf cart for OCMS. Staff now has the capability to move furniture, athletic and afterschool equipment, technology as well as students and staff around campus as needed. This is an item our school has been in need of for quite a while. Watkinsville Golf Carts & Disc Golf is sponsoring all annual maintenance checks on our golf cart. Their contribution is greatly appreciated. There have been so many smiling faces in the past couple of weeks among our administration and custodial staff. Thank you for your contribution.

We have 3 wonderful Grade Coordinators for the Event Committee. Betsy Boswell will be assisting with 6 grade; Jennifer Chittipangna will coordinate 7 grade; and Brittany McGlohon will be aiding 8 grade. All grades will be assisting the grade level teachers with their Field Days. 8 grade will be also be coordinating our 8 grade dance at the end of the year. The committee will also help with one student treat day and assist with copies for grade trip information and events. We need volunteers for each grade level to assist each coordinator. October 2 is Custodian Appreciation Day. We cannot thank our custodians enough for the work they do each day to make our school clean and safe. Our custodial staff consists of: Kay Benton, Clarence Daniels, Kim Greene, April Hood, William Peak and Kent Wilson. Please let this wonderful staff know how much we appreciate them when you see them around campus.

We will be celebrating our bus drivers October 16-20 for Bus Safety Week. Bus Drivers are crucial to our school system and we have some amazing drivers!! Please let them know how much we appreciate them as you see them at the bus stops!

October 27 we will celebrate Bri McDougal, our OCMS Occupational Therapist. Bri works each day to help our students in need of extra assistance to increase motor skills and ability to perform tasks. She works hard to help our Braves. Thank you Bri.

Thank you to our volunteers and donations for celebrating our teachers and staff with a tailgate themed luncheon and lunch duty assistance on Thursday, September 28. Thank you to Satisfied Food Co. as well for the delicious pimento cheese spread and BOB dip.
