Boys' Basketball

The Varsity Boys' Basketball team has experienced a bit of a resurgence upon joining the challenging Northeastern Conference last year. After posting a 6-5 record in the abbreviated season a year ago, the Chieftains are off to a 8-7 start, posting excellent wins against Tewksbury, Peabody (twice), Marblehead, Danvers, Gloucester, Saugus, and Winthrop. Much of the season remains, and the team needs two more wins to qualify for the State Tournament for the first time in recent years. Led by Captains Matt Richardson's 18 points and 9 rebounds per game, Ben Dillon's 14 ppg, and Brennen Johnston's 10 ppg and ferocious defense, the team looks to make noise down the stretch prior to the tournament.

Girls' Basketball

On behalf of the Masco Girls Basketball team, the senior captains would like to recognize an amazing start to the season! We are currently 12-5 with a 5-2 record at home and 7-3 away, holding the 2nd spot in the Northeastern Conference. We played in the Bishop Fenwick Holiday Tournament at the end of December with two really close games against some strong teams. Finishing the tournament 1-1, we had a loss by 3 points to Rockland and a great comeback win against Haverhill, 50-44. Shout out to our stat leaders: Krystal Zepaj with 46 3-pointers, Sarah Green with 80 rebounds, Taylor Bovardi with 43 steals, and Kaleigh Monagle with 22 defensive stops, all adding to some great team wins. On January 28th, we had our senior night against Beverly to celebrate all 7 of our seniors, pulling out a win, 47-29, with contributions from everyone on the team. With 14 games down and 5 regular season games to go (including a St. Mary’s tournament over February break), we’re hoping to finish out the season on a high note and make some waves in the playoffs. Thanks so much to everyone who has come out to see a game this season and make sure to check out our website for our schedule, record, stats, and more! We hope to see you in the gym soon!
