February 2024
Message from Ms. Misner
Happy Black History Month!
All year long, we strive to teach Black History but this month we will highlight and celebrate the contributions African Americans have made in our collective American History. This year's theme, “African Americans and the Arts,” explores the key influence African Americans have had in the fields of "visual and performing arts, literature, fashion, folklore, language, film, music, architecture, culinary and other forms of cultural expression." I have linked some resources for you and your family below.
We have many events coming up soon including Literacy Night, Kindergarten Orientation, Conferences and Spring Break. Important Dates are included later in this Newsletter.
I hope you all are staying safe and healthy as we finish out the winter months!
Take good care,
Ms. Misner
