Prayer
O God of Creation, you have blessed us with the changing of the seasons
As we welcome the autumn month,
May the earlier setting of the sun
Remind us to take time to rest.
May the brilliant colors of the leaves
Remind us of the wonder of your creation.
May the steam of our breath in the cool air
Remind us that it is you who give us the breath of life.
May the harvest from the fields remind us of the abundance we have been given and bounty we are to share with others.
May the dying of summer’s spirit remind us of your great promise that death
Is temporary and life is eternal.
We praise you for your goodness forever and ever.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parent/Guardians,
Dear Parents,
As we enter Autumn let us remember all the wonderful things that have happened to us during the summer months. Now we enter a new season and soon will enter into the Liturgical calendar season of Advent.
Last weekend we experienced the festival, and it was great to see so many families and alumni over the weekend. May I express my appreciation to the families who worked in preparation for the festival and during the weekend. I would like to thank the festival committee under the leadership of Mr. Derrick Wong for all the preparation to make it a successful event.
Some good news regarding the sidewalk. I received news that the SSF Engineering department approved the plan for the exit door after much back and forth with City Engineer. Therefore, pouring of the concrete will occur tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for your patience.
Parent – Teacher Conferences
Thanks to everyone in participating in the Parent – Teacher conferences these past couple of days. Thanks to the teachers for their time in preparing for the conferences.
Professional Day – Educator Day
Last Friday all the teachers across the Archdiocese were involved in the Educator Day. The focus of the day centered around Visible Learning. As part of the Visible Learning process teachers focus on success criteria and “I can..” statements. You may have noticed in the classrooms a portable stand where teachers are writing “I can” statements. Basically, it is reinforcing the outcomes for that particular lesson. It is what we would call Intentionality. The students should be able to respond to the “I can” statements during or after the lesson. We started working on this last year and now all schools have Visible Learning as one of their goals.
Halloween
We will continue with our Halloween Parade at 1:15pm on Monday October 31st. We will be able to have snacks after the parade in the various classrooms. Please be advised that the School Board members have agreed that we need to cut back on the amount of food for the children. Please remember that the students have had their lunch. We are looking at prepackaged snacks and drinks. No soda or peanut type of snacks. Room Parents (ONLY) are allowed back in the classrooms.
Morning Homework Club – Update
It has been decided to abandon the Morning Homework Club due to a lack of response and to utilize our resources for the Tuesday after school Homework Club.
Confirmation
On Saturday, October 22nd Confirmation will be celebrated in the Church at 11am. Bishop Justice will be residing over the ceremony. We wish all those being confirmed God’s blessing. This is one of the major sacraments in our church.
Communion Meeting
Next Thursday, October 20th the first of the communion meetings will be held in the Grade 2 room at 7pm. If your child is going to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, parents need to attend the parent meetings.
God Bless and Stay Safe,

Message from Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone
Early voting has already begun for the upcoming election on November 8. In preparation for this, Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone has released a video explaining why it is important for us to vote.
"One of our most fundamental rights is the right to vote,” he says in the video. The message, along with other teachings on faithful citizenship and a link to register to vote, are available on our website. The deadline to register to vote online is October 24.
IMPORTANT TADS INFORMATION
- New mailing address
As of 8/31, the Minneapolis office will be closed. With this, we have a new process for the checks, documents, and invoices that were being sent through the mail.
- TADS will no longer accept documents that are mailed. Families should take a photo or scan the document to make an electronic copy and upload that to their TADS account. The family should then keep the hard copy for their records.
- TADS will no longer be mailing invoices. All billing accounts will be switched to “Statements sent by email”.
- If they would still like a hard copy, they or the school can log in and go to the family’s billing account > click on an invoice number > click the button to “Download as a PDF”.
- We have notified families of this by inserting a brightly colored letter in any invoices mailed out this month. We will also email families when we switch their account to emailed statements.
- If they request to have their $18 Postal mailing fee removed, we can replace it with an “Amended Mailing Fee” that is $3 per invoice we previously sent. The over payments can be applied to their future invoices but CANNOT be refunded.
- Mailed checks and money orders should be sent to our lockbox at the address below.
- Please give this new address to every family who mentions they might send a payment.
- Mailed payments sent to the 110 N 5th St. address will be forwarded, however this will cause delays and it is possible for mail to be missed in this process.
- We are in the process of updating the website, emails, and downloadable documents with the new address.
- TBD on how this will be communicated with families and schools.

Dear All Souls Families,
You can now pay and add credit to your child/children's cafeteria account through SchoolSpeak. Your payment will be processed through PayPal with a 3% convenience fee for all transactions.
Sign-in to your SchoolSpeak account and select "Lunch Order" in the quick links menu on the left. The "Pay" tab will direct you to your payment options. You may pay the cafeteria balance through your existing PayPal account or as a guest using your credit or debit card. You may also add credit to your child/children's cafeteria account. If you wish, you may still make cash or check payments to the school office.
Please note, for the families that have a credit card on file I will no longer be charging your credit card for lunch payments. You are responsible for paying and adding credit to your cafeteria account.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
Regards,
