Prayer for Ukraine
O Lord our God, look down with mercy on the Ukrainian people. Protect and save them from the unjust aggressors who seek to subdue them. Grant them steadfast trust in your mercy and protection.
O Mother of God, who gave us your miraculous icon of Mary praying in Santa Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv intercede for the Ukrainian people, who run to the shelter of your mercy in their times of need.
O Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Grant peace and protection to the people of Ukraine. Give them strength and courage to defend what is good, right, and holy. Keep them safe from harm and provide for all their needs, both temporal and spiritual.
Hear our prayers, O Lord, and deliver us from distress, for You are merciful and compassionate and love mankind. To You we give glory: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and ever. Amen. -by Carrie Chuff, a Ukrainian adpted
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parent/Guardians,
Let us keep in our prayers the people of Ukraine who are struggling with the invasion from Russia. Let’s hope peace can prevail before many more lives are lost. It is very difficult to see how life can be disrupted by such a powerful person who has no value for life. We are seeing images that we thought were over from previous wars.
Academic Decathlon
Congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade students who participated in the Academic Decathlon last Saturday at St. Charles School in San Carlos. Our students performed well, taking 1st place in “Current Events” by Emma Morgan and 3rd place in “English” by Eddie Binetti. The team also took 5th place in the Super Quiz. Congratulations, students, and to Ms. Cadelago, who worked with the students from September to last Saturday. Thanks to the parents who attended last Saturday to assist with the Decathlon.
Mercy High School Art Show
We had students enter the Mercy High School Art Show, and two of the students took prizes. Congratulations to Eva Mutoh in 7th grade, who won 1st place in the digital art category, and Monica Barriga in 6th grade, who won 3rd place in the drawing category.
Masking Guidelines
I recently sent everyone the email from the Superintendent of Catholic Schools regarding lifting masks in schools. Beginning Monday, March 14th, masks will be optional at school. The County Health Department still highly recommends masks to be worn.
Re-Enrollment
Re-enrollment is underway, and we would like to have it completed by March 15th. It will be important to complete the process by then. We have a few students on waiting lists and do not wish to stop them from enrolling. If you have any questions about the process, please contact Mrs. Cierra at info@ssfallsoulsschool.org or by calling 650-583-3562.
BINGO Returns
Thanks to Mr. Wong for taking the lead in rejuvenating Bingo, along with other school board members. The launch of the BINGO program will be on Friday, April 1st, in the cafeteria. Doors open at 5pm, with the first game at 6:45pm. Please see the attached flyer and spread the word. All proceeds go toward the school building maintenance fund and tuition subsidy. Please pass this message on to all your friends and family members.
Daylight Saving
Daylight saving begins this weekend. You will need to forward your clocks by one hour.
Spirit Wear Company
We have signed up with 1st Place Spirit Wear company to provide spirit wear to students, friends, and family. You will be able to order online, and the goods will be shipped directly to you. The spirit wear clothes do not replace the school uniform. Spirit Wear can be worn on non-uniform days when we have dress-down days. You can view and order by clicking here.
God Bless and Stay Safe,

ART SHOW
This year we were happy to be back at Mercy High School for their annual art show and competition, "Fabulous Works of Art" . Junior high students from schools around the Bay Area displayed their art in a gallery setting while submissions were judged by students who are members of the National Arts Honor Society - Mercy High School Chapter, using the guidelines set forth by the California Standards for the Visual Arts. In the show were entries from Chidinma Nwaiwu, Monica Barriga, Stephania Quinteros Aleman, Angeleen Bartolome, Eva Mutoh, Marcela Hernandez, and Leshly Martin. Eva Mutoh in 7th grade received first place in the digital media category, while Monica Barriga in 6th grade received 3rd place in the drawing category. Congratulations to all these students on their wonderful artwork.
