Weekly Happenings
Week of 2/19/19
A Message from the Administrator
Greetings MCS Families,
Last week I accepted and presented to our school board the retirement resignations for Mr. Cole and Mrs. Granja. Mr. Cole has been the first grade teacher at MCS for the past 18 years and has been a great asset to MCS and our students. Mrs. Granja has been our third grade teacher for the past 10 years, while also instructing our Merry Missives Dance troupe for 10 years. Their hard work and love for MCS is greatly appreciated and they will both be missed. I would like to thank them for their years of service and wish them the best with their retirement adventures.
Next year will bring many exciting new changes with the upcoming expansion and new staff members. Ms. Hoffmeister, who currently teaches middle school ELA/Social Studies/Life Skills, will be our new first grade teacher. Ms. Hoffmeister has years of experience teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade prior to becoming our middle school teacher.
Mrs. DeMyer will begin teaching 3rd grade full time for the upcoming school year. For the past three years, she has been teaching 3rd grade part time in addition to PE, Keyboarding, and Gifted/Talented. She will be a great fit with her experience in the 3rd grade classroom and our k-5 students in their electives. We will be looking to hire new staff members for middle school and electives as Spring comes around.
Our Winter Celebration was postponed last week due to the weather. It has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 6th from 5-7 pm. We ill be showcasing what our students have been working on, there will be food available for purchase and entertainment for all!
Have a great rest of your week!!!
Sincerely,
Tony Bonuccelli
