Bogota Middle School Update

I hope that everyone is having a safe winter. Please continue to take the time to read this Weekly Update. Important information and student/school highlights are featured here.

Our 6th Graders at BMS participated in a Social and Emotional Learning Day last Friday, filled with activities that incorporated teamwork, kindness, and acceptance.

The PTO will be hosting a Winter/Valentine's Dance on February 16th, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Please click on the button below if you plan on having your child attend. The Gertrude Hawk Fundraiser is still going on! If you need another form for it, please contact the main office.

Congratulations to Mrs. Rosado for being our January Teacher/Staff Member of the Month at Bogota Middle School. Mrs. Rosado, a longtime resident of Bogota, is a dedicated Physical Education and Health teacher. She goes above and beyond for our students. She is always jumping in to help in times of need and she is extremely supportive of her fellow peers. Keep up the great work Mrs. Rosado!!!!!

Students are investigating what happened to King Tut, the boy King. In small groups, they are using the strategies and skills they have been practicing all year to read through textual evidence and come to the conclusion as to what happened.

GERTRUDE HAWK FUNDRAISER IS STILL GOING ON!

Our Next PTO meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 5th, at 7:00pm in the Bogota Middle School Cafeteria. Parents will enter through the front door. We hope to see everyone there!!!!

1. If your child is not feeling well PLEASE DO NOT SEND them to school for the health and well being of our teachers and students.

2. Your child MUST BE FEVER FREE without medication for 24 hours before returning to school.

3. If your child is going to be absent , PLEASE call the school and leave your child's name, grade, homeroom teacher, and reason for absence.

4. Please encourage your child to eat before coming to school.

5.PLEASE remind them to wash their hands frequently. It is the best way to prevent the spread of germs.

6. We encourage your child to bring a reusable water bottle to school to use instead of using the water fountain. Students can fill their water bottles at school.
