Major's Minute
Last week, there was one night when I was relaxing and watching a TV show in the living room. It was about 10:30 PM when I heard a noise in the kitchen. That's when it hit me and I called out "Brianda?!" I didn't even realize that my child was still in the kitchen playing on the computer. It was already one hour past her bed time!
Feeling such mixed emotions of guilt and irritation - I ended up scolding her for not watching her time. When was the last time you saw a kid put themselves to sleep at the right time without any prompting? It was really my job, but I let my guard down. It's so easy to get unfocused, sidetracked, distracted, but let this verse help us refocus.
1 Corinthians 16:13 NIV
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
Major Shoshannah Ruwethin
Continue to pray for Alex Sandoval. If you would like to bring a card or letter of encouragement on Sunday we can send them to him on your behalf.
**New programs this week, Wednesday youth starting @ 2 PM.
**Brass band starts again this Thursday, 5:45 PM. Followed by a family dinner than Bible study or youth choir.
**Next Potluck Sunday is September 17 (no longer the 10th). Remember, the church will provide a main dish. If you can bring other entrees, side dishes, and drinks we'd appreciate it. HOWEVER, the most important thing to bring is yourselves!**
Office closed September 1 & September 4

Impromptu Field Trip After Church
Illuminate is Back!
In the past two years, we've enjoyed starting up Sunday potlucks, monthly women and teen nights, music programs, Thursday dinner and Bible studies and even opened up a food pantry that will make it's year mark in September.
It's been a blur, but God continues to orchestrate people at the right time. We're hopeful to reach more families and build relationships in the community through more youth programming starting this Fall. We ask that you help us pray for a good outcome as we bring back Illuminate (Wednesday Youth programming - shinning through the darkness.)
Please spread the word! Starting up September 6.

Life Line Screening
There is a simple, convenient way for you to get preventive health screenings and learn your risk for stroke, heart disease and other chronic conditions.
These painless screenings go beyond your regular checkup to identify dangerous plaque buildup or blockage, a major risk factor for stroke and heart disease. The screenings are accurate, affordable and will give you valuable information about your health that you can share with your doctor.
We are pleased to host Life Line Screening, who will be on site on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Salvation Army Citadel of Santa Clara to conduct these valuable screenings.
These 4 vital screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete. Register by calling toll free 1-844-591-7160, text the word "circle" to 216-279-1607 or online at https://llsa.social/HC
