Dear Northridge High School Community,
This week at Northridge, we’ve seen some remarkable achievements from our students, and we’ve seen the collaborative spirit of our community. We begin by celebrating our students' outstanding performance in the district NWEA benchmark testing in math and reading. Many students surpassed their growth goals and demonstrated the effectiveness of our academic programs.
In the spotlight this week is Jesus Ayala, whose passion for photography has wonderfully captured the essence of Northridge sports. His exceptional work, frequently featured on our Northridge Instagram, has been rightfully recognized with significant funding from the D6 Success Foundation for professional camera equipment. This achievement is not just a personal milestone for Jesus but also an inspiration for our entire student body.
Our collaboration with Winograd's kindergarten class stands out as a highlight of this season's community engagement. In a fun connection, our Fashion and Design students in Carli Engel’s class, brought to life the 'Monster Requests' shared by the kindergartners. Our Grizzly students brought the requests to life by hand sewing and delivering the stuffed monsters to the kindergarteners. The project was not only a creative endeavor but also a heartwarming way to contribute during the holiday season, strengthening our community bonds.
As we head into the final week of the season, I encourage everyone to stay informed about the final week's schedule (See below). It's important that our students take full advantage of the afternoon support sessions to finish the semester strong. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our staff and students for their relentless pursuit of excellence and their contributions to making Northridge High School a vibrant and nurturing environment.

Meet BRAIN MAYNARD! Brian serves as the Company Commander for the Marine Corps Junior ROTC where he is responsible for the performance, conduct, morale, and development of the entire JROTC Corps of Cadets at Northridge High School. Among his most notable attributes is his propensity to thrive on any challenge, whether it be in his extreme physical fitness regimen to prepare for Marine Corps Basic Training, his impressive academic standing, or his selfless service to our community in which he has already performed more than 90 hours of community service and 10 Color Guards this semester alone. And even with all of this, he still finds time to tutor his fellow students in a myriad of subjects, and has successfully developed and implemented numerous standard operating procedures for the JROTC program.
Brian’s exemplary conduct and performance demonstrates adherence to the core values of Honor, Courage and Commitment, and his actions have served our school, community and nation while providing an example for others to follow. We are proud to call you a Grizzly, Brian!

D6 STUDENTS TO RECEIVE SCHOOL MEALS AT NO COST THIS SCHOOL YEAR.
Greeley-Evans School District 6 is excited to announce the participation in the Healthy School Meals for All program for breakfast and lunch. This means that all D6 students may eat school breakfast & lunch at no cost!
What does this mean for you?
Families, you no longer have to worry about filling out lengthy applications to qualify for free school meals. Every child in our 30+ schools across the Greeley-Evans community will automatically receive this incredible benefit, without needing to complete an application or other additional steps.
D6 School Benefits Application
While all students will receive meals at no cost, it is important for households to provide income information through the D6 School Benefits Application. This information is crucial for D6 to maintain full access to state and federal funding that supports school programs, after-school activities, and other benefits.
Additionally, qualifying households may have their school & athletic fees waived for the 2023-24 school year.
Let's Work Together
We believe that this program's success lies in collaboration between our school district and you, the parents. We encourage you to support and guide your children in making the most of this opportunity. We believe that healthy eating habits are best developed with your involvement, and together, we can empower our students to thrive.
Taking Advantage of Free School Meals
We strongly encourage all families to take full advantage of this opportunity for their children. Not only do free school meals help alleviate financial burdens, but they will also help in promoting a healthier and more focused learning environment for our students to thrive and succeed.
You can stay informed about the meals being offered at your child's school by viewing their menu & nutritional information. This will provide you with a detailed look at the delicious and nutritious meals prepared by our talented school nutrition team.
Simply use the filter options to select your student's school & type of menu.
Promoting Healthy Eating Habits
Greeley-Evans School District 6 Nutrition Services is committed to promoting healthy eating habits among our students. By providing free school meals, we aim to ensure that every child has access to nutritious food options that contribute to their overall well-being and academic success.
DISTRICT 6 IS PLEASED TO WELCOME VOLUNTEERS BACK INTO OUR BUILDINGS.
