Ignite - Carissa Pope, Trusty Elementary
Kind Counts - Adriana Diaz, Adult Education
Every Day Leader - Jennifer Craig, Northside High
FSPS employees and parents of FSPS students submitted 163 nominations during the first quarter! Check out the photos below. Here are a few of the kind words shared in the recommendations:
Carissa Pope, Trusty Elementary - Ignite Award
Ms. Pope is a very resourceful teacher. She is only in her second year, but she shares and collaborates with Trusty staff as well as collaborating with other schools. She solves problems very quickly and helps others resolve their issues. The students admire Ms. Pope's dedication to helping them grow daily. She makes learning fun. We are fortunate to have Ms. Pope as part of our Trusty team! (Lazara Williams) Ms. Popes shows her knowledge of skills by engaging her students. She is supporting the educational journey. Pope is a very positive person. She has a good attitude, she is always willing to help others. (Nancy Gallo)
Adriana Diaz, Adult Education - Kind Counts
"Not only does Ms. Diaz greet every day and every person with a smile, she beams with enthusiasm and kindness even when the work is challenging. Even when situations are not ideal or the hours are long, Ms. Diaz works with a smile. She exudes kindness and calm." (Matthew Hominick)
Jennifer Craig, Northside High - Every Day Leader
Jenny Craig works tirelessly to be the most engaging teacher, DECA Advisor, Grizzly Gear Store Manager and new internship teacher. At least 20 students have told me she has been their favorite teacher. I ask why, students proceed to tell me they can't put [into] words, but she tries so hard and makes learning fun. She builds positive teacher student relationships. No student is left out. (CeeCee Hollimon) Mrs. Craig is full of passion and energy both when she is teaching and as the DECA sponsor. She models how to encourage others by how she interacts with her students. She pushes her students to try new things, and they are brave enough to try because they know she believes in them. Whether it’s running for an office or competing in a competition, Mrs. Craig challenges her students to set ambitious goals for themselves, and then she teaches them the tools they need to reach those goals. The dedication and enthusiasm Mrs. Craig show as the sponsor for DECA is commendable. She is committed to using her personal time and energy to help students plan service projects for the community. She also helps them set goals for the chapter and gives feedback on the steps they should take to reach the goals. Because she is so invested in DECA, the members follow her lead and want to achieve at a high level. (Holly Craig)
Help us celebrate these individuals!
