Principal's Corner
Hello Oak View Families,
We had another great week here at Oak View! The students are settling into routines and we are having great fun! This week we practiced all of our safety drills and our students did a fantastic job of following all procedures. Next week our students will be engaging in our Bus Safety week.
On Monday, September 18, Oak View will be kicking off our largest fundraiser of the year, The Paws for a Cause Fun Run. Your child(ren) will be bringing home information on Monday. Thank you in advance for your support on this important fundraiser! Together we can make great things happen!
I wanted to share an opportunity for all families to learn more about our Osseo Area Schools upcoming referendum on the November 7th ballot.
Check out the FAQ at district279.org/BetterFuture, email BetterFuture@district279.org or call 763-391-8990. You’re also welcome to join one of three Community Informational Meetings being held this fall: Sept. 19 (PCSH), Oct. 3 (OSH) and Oct. 11 (MGSH).
Our District 279 Foundation’s 13th annual Reading is Fun 5K! Hosted at Elm Creek Park Reserve on Saturday, October 7, this family-friendly event will raise funds for media centers (libraries) in Osseo Area Schools to purchase learning resources. Wishing you a terrific weekend!
Warmest regards,

Our annual Husky Fun Run kicks off on Monday! This is our PTO’s largest fundraiser and we will need several volunteers to help this event run smoothly. The Fun Run will take place on Friday, September 29.

Please take a moment to complete your volunteer application for this school year using the link below if you have not done so already.
If you are interested in volunteering during the school year, please send me an email at thompsona2@district279.org. We have opportunities to help in the media center, prep projects for classrooms, and occasionally some take-home projects. In your email, please include what type of projects you are interested in helping with and your availability. I look forward to hearing from you!
