Stonybrook School Weekly Update #20

An incredible week of learning at Stonybrook!
4th grade students in Mrs. Catalano and Mrs. Lenihan's class were learning about the eye and how it works in Science class.
Mrs. Gennat and Mrs. Hill's 3rd grade students have been designing and building their own bridges in Social Studies class.
Stonybrook Business Club
The Stonybrook Business Club students had their workshop with the Future Business Leaders of America students from Kinnelon High School on February 2nd. The FBLA students mentored the Business Club students on interviewing skills and resume building skills. Thank you to the FBLA for a wonderful presentation and for working with our 5th grade students.
5th-Grade Snowflake Soiree
Thank you to KEHSA and the dance committee for putting together a wonderful evening for our 5th-grade students. Our students were provided with so many activities that they could take part in. They had a giant Jenga set, an inflatable slide, air hockey, and of course dancing! Thank you as well to all of our parent volunteers, our staff members who volunteered, and to Mr. Tedesco for the music. It was a wonderful evening!
Student Council Valentine's Day Bagel Sale
Our Stonybrook Student Council will be holding a Valentine's Day bagel sale on February 14th. Bagels with a choice of toppings will cost $5.00. The order form was sent home this week. The form is also located below for your convenience. Please make sure that the order form with the money is sent to your child's teacher by February 9th. Thank you.
PEEC Parent Letter
Attached is the PEEC Parent Letter with the initial deposit information. If you are planning on having your child attend, please send in the deposit by February 9th. Please know that your child can change their mind at any time about attending. Thank you.
Important Upcoming Dates
February 14th: Valentine's Day/Bagel Breakfast for students
February 15th: Talent Show for students (Held during the school day)
February 16th and 19th: School Closed for President's Day Weekend
February 27th: Board of Ed Meeting at KHS.
Important Reminders
As the weather becomes colder, please make sure that your child has a coat/heavy sweatshirt to wear while outside at recess.
Please make sure to label your child's coat or sweatshirt with their name/grade.
As long as the temperature outdoors remains at 32 degrees and above, students will have outdoor recess.
Please label your child's water bottle with their name/grade.
Please make sure that your child has their Chromebook with them when they come to school each day and that it is fully charged.

Lost and Found
If your child/ren has misplaced a coat or sweatshirt, please remind them to check the lost and found in the cafeteria. There are several coats and sweatshirts that have yet to be claimed. Thank you.
