Voyager is a diverse, inclusive learning community where each student is valued, supported, and inspired.
Welcome Back!
Land Acknowledgement
The Mukilteo School District acknowledges that we gather on the ancestral homelands of the Coast Salish Peoples, who have lived in the Salish Sea basin since time immemorial. We respect this place and honor the sacred spiritual connection to the land, water, and its people, past, present, and future. The district serves a diverse population of about 15,000 students who live near the Puget Sound about 15 miles north of Seattle. Dedicated staff help prepare our community's children to be successful, contributing members of the community. Our students learn in an environment that is positive, caring, and focused on their highest academic potential.

For more information, please visit the district’s COVID Resources website. Given the new guidelines, the district COVID dashboard webpage has been deactivated.
Please contact Attendance when your student needs to stay home: (425) 366-5300 or contact the School Nurse for more information.
Medication at School
Does your student need medication at school?
The school district Medications webpage Health / Medications at School (mukilteoschools.org), has links to medication order forms. You can print the form and take it to your medical provider, they fill it out, you sign it and then they can fax it to the school (425) 366-5302. All medications at school require an order form, even if the student is self-carrying it. (like inhalers)
Attendance Awareness
Good attendance helps children do well in school and in the workplace.
Good attendance matters for school success, starting as early as prekindergarten and throughout elementary school. By middle and high school, poor attendance is a leading indicator of dropout. Developing the habit of attendance prepares students for success on the job and in life.
Additionally, please be mindful about scheduling appointments outside of the school day whenever possible, or to bring students back to campus so that they miss as little school as possible.
Pre-Arranged Absences
To request a pre-arranged absence, please complete the Middle School Pre-arranged Absence Form, print, sign and submit to Voyager’s front office.
For questions regarding attendance guidelines please review Mukilteo School Board policy #3122P for more details or contact Voyager’s front office at (425) 366-5300.

COVID testing schedule during Winter Break
We sincerely hope you and your loved ones stay healthy during break, but should you need a COVID test, the district testing site will be open December 19, 20, 21, 22, and December 27, 28, 29, 30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The testing site is located at 12310 Meridian Ave. S., Everett, 98208 (near Mariner High School).
In the event of snow or bad weather, the site may close or delay opening. If that occurs, we will post that on the district home page under News.
Coming soon! The test site will soon offer a rapid antigen test that tests for COVID-19 and Influenza A and Influenza B. Stay tuned for more details and a start date for that test being offered.
Operation Community Holiday Cards Drop 2022!
Voyager students wrote well over 600 holiday cards to distribute to our elderly neighbors! Thank you to our students for their kindness and thoughtfulness and to the parents/guardians who donated blank holiday cards to help make this event happen! The messages throughout the cards were truly heart warming.
Holiday cards were delivered to five local retirement/nursing homes on December 16, spreading cheer throughout, compliments of Voyager Middle School! Go Wolverines!!

Weekly Tips
Three strategies can eliminate rude back talk
As the parent of a middle school child, you may have days where it seems as if everything you say is wrong. Even an innocent comment may be met with a rude, arrogant or scornful reply from your child.
You may be angry and frustrated. But it’s best to avoid a big show of emotion. Instead:
- Use “I-messages.” Anything that begins “you always” or “you never” or even just “you” may sound like an accusation to your child. And nothing will gear a middle schooler up for a fight faster than that. Instead, put the emphasis on your feelings. Say, “I get frustrated when the recycling piles up,” instead of, “You never take the recycling to the curb!”
- Become a broken record. Don’t get into a debate about why your middle schooler can’t go to a concert without an adult. Instead, repeat yourself. “The rule in our house is no unchaperoned concerts.” If your child continues to complain, respond again, “The rule in our house is no unchaperoned concerts.”
- Say something nice, then walk away. There are times when you just won’t be able to get any further with your child. Try, “I know you’re upset, and that makes me sad for you. But you’re being so rude to me that I can’t talk to you right now. I’ll be happy to discuss things when we are both calm.”
Establish family rules that promote respectful behavior
The way children interact with their family members lays the groundwork for how they act toward others. By establishing rules for acceptable behavior, you’ll be creating a more peaceful, respectful climate at home—and at school.
Encourage family members to:
- Ask before taking or borrowing someone else’s property.
- Share. A box of cereal is for everyone in the family, not just your middle schooler.
- Accept that no one always gets their own way. Family members have to take turns.
- Us a polite tone when speaking.
- Think of others. Ask about their day. Offer support or praise when appropriate.
Don’t tolerate behavior such as:
- Physical violence in any form.
- Screaming and yelling. • Insulting other family members.
- Stealing from family members.
- Treating family property with disrespect.
