You should be proud of your student! When transitioning back to school, the students did not skip a beat. Staff and students reviewed expectations so all were set up for success, and they really did a great job settling right back in to their learning.

Looking ahead to next week, we get to welcome Guest Storyteller, Will Hornyak to our school for an assembly on Wednesday. The students will really enjoy it and we are excited to welcome him to River Mill. If you would like to learn more about him, you can access his website via this link.

Monitoring student learning is very important to us, as we want to provide every opportunity for your child to reach their goals. If you are not sure, ask your child what some of their learning goals are and how they are monitoring their own progress toward it. You can review their reported progression via PowerSchool. If you are unsure of how to do that, please review the video included below.

In order to help you all know what the week looks like, we will list it out clearly for you each week. REID days for are invited students and will change each week. Students are invited to REID days for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's to extend or challenge a student, and other times it might be to provide extra help on a particular skill. On those days, our doors open at 7:50 and dismissal is at 10:00am. If you have questions about this week's schedule, please let. us know!

We have a number of students who are arriving at school late each day. We really emphasize the importance of coming to school each day and on time to establish routine, consistency, and we don't want your child to miss important social and academic items that are so valuable to their school success. If there is a specific circumstance causing this for your family, please let us know so we can support you. Thank you.

Each month we choose to focus on one of our Standards of Excellence. Through this, we teach our students what it means to display these characteristics. Then we recognize members of our school community for exemplifying the trait. All of these help us to reach our school district's long term mission of equipping our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be resourceful and successful.

My School Bucks is an online payment service that provides parents the ability to securely pay for meals, monitor student cafeteria purchases, and receive email notifications for low account balances.

Please note: currently, a convenience fee of $2.75 will be applied for each transaction.

All transactions are processed and applied to students' accounts nightly.
