About PFSD's March 14th Levy
Enhance school safety. Renew fundamental programs.
Superintendent's Message
March 14th marks an important election for the 6,050 students in our district. Let your voice be heard. Did you know only 19% of PFSD parents voted in the 2021 supplemental levy election?
Renewal funding is $4,955,000 per year for two years for:
- extracurricular activities
- Kootenai Technical Education Campus (KTEC)
- competitive salaries for teachers and support staff (bus drivers, paraprofessionals, custodians and other student support staff)
- maintenance of schools
In addition, we are asking for an increase of $1,003,551 to fund school safety enhancements:
- Additional SROs and Campus Safety at elementary schools
- Secure vestibules at Post Falls Middle School, Mullan Trail, Seltice, Ponderosa, Frederick Post Learning Center (developmental pre-school) and New Vision High School
- Access control in all district schools
- Security camera upgrades in all district schools
The total levy ask is $5,958,551 per year for two years. Due to growth in our area, the average Post Falls homeowner's school district taxes are projected to remain flat. More information can be found on the PFSD website, and as always, feel free to reach out to me at 208-773-1658 or dena.naccarato@sd273.com with additional questions.

Renewal: Athletics and other Student Enrichment Activities
Post Falls School District is proud to offer a variety of athletics, clubs, and other student enrichment activities in our elementary, middle and high schools. Some examples include: band, choir, cross country, student council, wrestling, basketball, debate, softball, drama, football, and much more. Though these opportunities engage our students' hearts and minds, the state provides $0 to fund these programs.

Elementary Math is Cool
Middle School Robotics
High School Improv
Fact: PFSD's tax rate is one of the lowest in the area and the state.
Renewal: Kootenai Technical Education Campus (KTEC)
Approximately 100 Post Falls students attend Kootenai Technical Education Campus (KTEC). Nearly $310,565 from our levy provides students with this trade education. The following programs are offered at KTEC:

Renewal: Competitive Salaries for teachers and support staff
Support staff: State funding for support staff salaries is also inadequate to appropriately staff our schools with the positions students and teachers rely on. State funding per hour for classified staff is $13.89
Support staff include:
- bus drivers
- custodians
- finance (accounting, payroll, accounts payable, etc)
- technology
- maintenance and grounds
- paraprofessionals (aka: classroom instructional aides)
- campus security
- school office staff
- kitchen staff
