CAFETERIA
We'd love to have you help out during lunch
As the weather starts to change, some of our students would rather stay inside. In order to accommodate students who want to stay inside and others that would like to go outside, we will need to have three adults present for safety. Please consider helping out.
Thank you so much to those who have been able to volunteer and help out in the lunchroom. It is such a blessing to have dedicated family members who are willing to help out!
A Note from the Cafeteria
Lunch orders for 2/26-3/1 are below. Please complete your order before the noon deadline, Monday 2/13.
This lunch order is for the week AFTER February break.
LOOKING FORWARD TO 24-25
Get ready to celebrate SMS next week during SPIRIT WEEK!
February 12th-16th is our SMS Spirit Week. See the images below for the schedule of fun events and themed dress days our Faculty Spirit Commitee has planned for your students all week!
Thank you so much to our HSA for paying for the Kevin McCarthy dance party on Monday of Spirit Week. The fundraising you do helps us to have special days like this!
Join us on Ash Wednesday for Mass with Bishop Mike
Bishop Mike will be joining Fr. Tom and Deacon Rick for our school Mass on Ash Wednesday at 9am. Following Mass he will be visiting classrooms following Mass and enjoying the activities of our schoolwide Ash Wednesday retreat. All are welcome to join us for Mass.
This year's Catholic Schools Week Breakfast was prepared by St. Mary's Knights of Columbus. It was a wonderful ministry to the family of SMS as parents have traditionally worked and prepared this breakfast. Thank you Knights, you allowed our families to relax and enjoy the food and fellowship!
Thanks also to the Spiritual Committee of the HSA and parents who worked together to setup/breakdown the gym, shop for and provide paper products, rolled plasticware, provided drinks/pastries/fruit, and coordinated the valentines for veterans and canned food donations. This combined effort made this year's breakfast a great success!
We need your assistance
St. Mary's School Swormville is in the midst of a self-assessment process that includes feedback and input from the full school community including students, their families, teachers, and other members of your school team. This accreditation process is being carried out by all parish schools and two regional schools in the Diocese of Buffalo.
Your participation in this survey is anonymous and the data from these surveys will be used by a committee at your school to determine the strengths of your school, as well as the areas that may need improvement. The results of the surveys will also be provided to a group representing the Diocese of Buffalo Catholic schools and a team of visitors that will visit your school to validate the self assessment your school has completed and determine if your school should be re-accredited by the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools.
The following survey should take about 10 minutes to complete, includes multiple choice questions, and the survey ends with three narrative questions where you are encouraged to share written comments about any section or any question. Please complete this survey by Friday, February 16th.
Remember to Re-Enroll for Next Year
Re-enrollment has ended, if you have not yet re-enrolled your students you will be receiving an email from Rebecca Kisailus to please do so as soon as possible . Also, if you chose the pay through FACTS option for your re-enrollment fee, that charge will be applied to your account next week and you should receive an email notification from FACTS when it is applied. Thank you!
Altar server training
For those who were not able to attend the training this past summer, a session has been scheduled for Saturday, February 17th from 10:00 am until noon. Boys and girls in grade 4 and above who have received their First Communion are eligible to be trained as an altar server. The training will be conducted by our adult server coordinator, Mr. Dick Marchessault. It will take place in the church. Contact Donna Allan at liturgy@stmaryswormville.org if your child would like to attend.
Special Person Lunch Thank You
It was so wonderful seeing the smiles on not only the faces of our students but also their special friends last week at lunch. A huge THANK YOU goes out to SMS moms Ashley Latona and Becky Kisailus for taking pictures, creating special keepsake cards, and sending them home to each family. We hope you enjoy this labor of love as much as you enjoyed your time visiting SMS.
