Celebrating Mrs. McCourtney!
CAASPP/State Testing Update
State Testing will begin mid-April. As discussed last week, the State has changed the calculations for each school. The move to a dashboard across multiple domains rather than the single score previously in place has been positive but came with an additional piece. In a move motivated by increasing the participation rate and getting more schools to reach the minimum 95% participation rate, there are heavy penalties for falling short. We receive the lowest possible score for all students short of the 95% rate. For a school as small as we are, this can be devastating. If you are thinking of opting out, please come in and let's talk.

Reminder: Countdown to Measure N Vote
Measure N, is on the March 3 ballot. Measure N is a general obligation bond to improve school buildings inside the School Facilities Improvement District (SFID 20-1) that includes all of the oldest schools in the District. The SFID excludes all neighborhoods that are paying Mello-Roos fees that built the schools in Tustin Ranch, West Irvine, Northpark, Orchard Hills and Tustin Legacy.
Information about Bond Measure N can be found on the TUSD Website’s home page at www.tustin.k12.ca.us.
Reminder High School Students Utilize Grade Slam
Please remember to take advantage of Grade Slam for your academic courses including prior submission for all of your essays as well as support with English, Math and Science classes. It's an incredible resource. Be sure to use it! For your convenience, we've included a parent and student handout as well.
