Principal's Message

Davis Families,

As the year ends and you begin to think about plans for your child during the summer, I strongly encourage you to sign them up for the CMSD Summer Learning Experience. It will be at Lakeside Campus and there will be options for kids to complete targeted credit recovery, enrichment projects, and athletics in the afternoon. Many students fell behind during the pandemic this year, and this is a great option for them to get caught back up. Call the school at 216-838-2500 for more information or visit the CMSD Summer Learning website.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL: The last day of school for Monday/Tuesday students is MONDAY, JUNE 21ST. The last day of school for Thursday/Friday students is TUESDAY, JUNE 22ND.

Davis & PHASTAR Create Commorative Plaque for Cleveland-area Tuskegee Airmen

Davis students worked with the North Coast Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen to produce a plaque commemorating the men and women from the Cleveland area who were part of the famed Tuskegee Airmen.

Teams of students researched, drafted, and refined the text to be included on the plaque. Davis senior Laila Graham took the lead on bringing these designs to fruition. With support from PHASTAR's Mr. Smith and using the laser cutting machine from the Davis Fab Lab, she etched replica patches, labels, and text for the plaque. Impressively, though, are the illustrations of the man and woman at the top of the plaque. These figures were hand drawn special for this plaque, digitized, and laser engraved by Laila.

Presidents' Council Scholars

Getting African American students TO and THROUGH college by activating the entrepreneurial mindset of the next generation, growing college graduation among people of color, and the growth of expertise in fields where people of color were historically excluded.

This FREE, three-year high school program begins during the sophomore year and continues until the student completes their senior year of high school. PC Scholars meet 2 Saturdays per month on the campus of Case Western Reserve University and receive the following benefits:

Eligibility for Paid Internships
Opportunity to use program experience as an application and resume builder
Eligibility for financial support to not only enter, but complete college
Involvement with one of the most prominent African- American Business Groups
Does NOT affect SAY YES SCHOLARSHIP FUNDING
Discover and develop business and entrepreneurial skills while ensuring students are prepared to enter higher education and the workforce.
