Wiggin Street Parent Update

Dear Wiggin Street Families,

What a fun week we had! The Math-a-thon rewards continued with skateboarding, bowling, glow party, and the Money Machine! The Teacher Breakfast reward will be next Wednesday. More information is below regarding the top fundraisers.

Next Monday, we will have a Student Leadership Meeting in the library at 8:40 am. I look forward to hearing more of their ideas for leadership opportunities at Wiggin Street.

Lastly, our Kindergarten through 2nd grade will present their Spring Musicals on Monday, March 6th, so mark your calendars!

Thanks to everyone that participated in the Math-a-thon. We are grateful for a community that is supportive of our schools! Next Wednesday, March 1st, will be the Breakfast with Teachers reward.

Families may order spring pictures at shop.hrimaging.com using the instruction side of the perforated student cards that students are bringing home today. Image proofs and order forms will arrive within 5-7 business days after picture day for each student photographed.

The whole fifth grade opened a museum of wonders where students could learn about the first peoples of North America. There were several models which showcase each regions’ unique and diverse features. Did you know the Pacific Northwest Natives put totem poles outside their houses to tell their family histories?

Ioana's parents visited Kindergarten today to share their birthday traditions. Students learned to sing Happy Birthday in Spanish and learned about piñatas. They even looked for a letter that looks different in Spanish. The squiggle over the letter N in Spanish is called a tilde!

Please keep these dates in mind when scheduling appointments for April. Make-up testing takes some of our educators away from intervention instruction, so we like to limit it as much as possible.

Please remember that students will go outside on days where the temperature with wind chill accounted for is 20°f and above. Be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather each day. Coats, hats, and gloves are necessary at this time of the year. Boots are required for playing in the snow. If you need assistance with winter outerwear for your child, please contact our school, and we will happily find warm clothes for them.

For pick up, please do not arrive until 3:30. There is no stopping, standing, or parking on E. Brooklyn St. allowed. Also, please reminder that our school is an Idle-free Zone. Protect our children and the community by turning off your engine.
