Education Program
Teacher Cadet Program @ HACC
We are continuing to look at starting a CTE program under the Education and Training Pathway. This program would fall under the Education General CIP code.
- It allows students to earn certifications.
- It allows the program to be offered to more students in the county.
- It allows us to expand our "homegrown" solution to the teacher shortage.
- Intensifies the curriculum being delivered.
- Allows for the HACC to capture Added Cost money. Education is #10 on the Rank List for added cost dollars, which gives it a X5 multiplier.
Mechatronics
Engineering transitioning to Mechatronics
Why switch to Mechatronics?
- The curriculum for Engineering is currently offering credentials in FANUC which is not recognized by the MDE as an Engineering credential, yet a Mechatronics credential.
- The curriculum for Engineering does not reflect Business and Industry needs in the county. By adopting a Mechatronics curriculum we would add the following content pieces.
- Digital Electronics/PLC's
- Hydraulic/Pneumatics
- Basic Machining/CNC
- Mechatronic Principals
- Added Cost: Currently Engineering is #29 on the rank list and has x1 multiplier. Mechatronics is #3 on the rank list and has a x10 multiplier.
