Asian American History TEAACH Act Session: Nov 3 virtual In this session, ROE 53 has partnered with Advancing Justice-Chicago to provide information and teaching resources for the TEAACH Act, which is a mandated unit of study for the 22-23 school year. Register here!
Safe Schools: Interrupting Bullying and Establishing a Culture of Learning: Provided by Area 3 SEL Hub in Quincy on November 17 from 8:00 to 3:30. The day will provide concrete, immediate prevention and intervention skills that deal with anger, conflict, bullying, and mistreatment, information about how to spot and interrupt these behaviors with an emphasis on Establishing a Culture of Connection. Computational Skills & Coding with Culture: Nov 30 virtual. This free, online session will include strategies to enhance students' computational skills in all subject areas. ROE 53 welcomes Victor 'Coach' Hicks from Coding with Culture as he shares some new ways to get students engaged in learning. Register here!

Other Information
WorkKeys: In the future, ROE 53 will begin using WorkKeys testing. This will eventually replace ETS Parapro testing. Watch for tickets to be posted on the ROE 53 website.
Short Term Approval for Paraprofessional: Applicants must submit one of the following as proof of a high school diploma:
- A copy of a high school diploma/GED from the United States
- A foreign credential translated through an approved company verifying an out-of-country high school diploma
- An official college transcript with any conferred degree
- An official college transcript showing a high school graduation date
If all of the above are unobtainable, applicants can submit the ISBE Form 83-93, High School Diploma Verification. Reasons may include the applicant was homeschooled, the school has closed, they are refugees, etc. The form should only be used if the high school diploma is unavailable.

Instructional Coaches: meets monthly to discuss and share coaching strategies and approaches used in schools; next one is November 17!
Technology Roundtable: ROE 53 partners with LTC and meets monthly to brainstorm, troubleshoot, and share information; next one is Dec 9!
