Onerahi School 26 November 2021
Te Karere o te Tumuaki/Principal's Message
Kia ora e te whānau,
There have been so many exciting things happening at school during these last few weeks.
We have won new gardening equipment through the Garden to Table programme and classes worked in the garden extension with Candace, planting, mulching, and weeding. Children have been helping their teachers to write their reports and reflecting on the year that has been. Staff have been working on carefully placing students in their classes for next year. The pool has been a welcome addition in this warmer weather, and it's lovely to hear the laughter and splashing as children reconnect with water safety and build their confidence. We only have 3 more weeks to go, so keeping routines and regularity is important to support our children to be successful to the end of the year. We appreciate your part in this.

Room 5 won a Northland maths contest run by Sumdog. Ka rawe!
29 Year 4-8 classes participated from all across Northland. 363 children in total! Each child who entered was challenged by 1000 maths problems. Each correct answer added to their class’s overall total. Room 5 won by 81 points. They had 3 students in the top 10 (Devon Duder, Tyson Murray, and Eden Piggott) and 12 students in the top 50. Fantastic effort!
