Dear Carman Families,

Thank you to everyone who was able to participate in our Veteran's Day assembly on Friday! We hope you enjoyed the afternoon with us.

A special thank you to our PTO Conference Dinner Planning Team! WOW oh wow! We would like to thank all of our parents for taking care of the staff on the marathon of a night (also known as conference night) for our teachers and staff. Your generosity not only provided a warm meal for our staff on Thursday but also allowed the staff to not worry about lunch the next day. Thank you for all you do each and every day to share your love for our staff.

We will have Early Release on Wednesday, Nov. 16th at 2:00 p.m.

Festival of Nations is this Friday! The fun will begin at 6:00 p.m. and wrap up at 8:00 p.m. We would love to see all of our families here enjoying the celebration of cultures.

Morning Drop Off

As a friendly reminder, school doors do not open until 8:45 AM. For the safety of all students, we are asking parents to wait until 8:45 to drop students off. Additionally, the car drop off lane in front of the school is where students should be dropped off. Please do not drop students off in the parking lot. Thank you for your help in ensuring our arrival is safe.

Influenza has started to make its way around the Carman Trails community. Please consider getting your child vaccinated against the flu to prevent or reduce the symptoms of influenza. Please see the image below to help differentiate between common respiratory viruses.

Parents, if you are calling the office to let us know that your student will be absent due to illness, please leave a detailed message that includes your student's symptoms and whether they have been diagnosed with an illness by their doctor. Thank you for your help.

Multicultural Night is back as Carman Trails’ Festival of Nations on Friday, November 18th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Throughout the year, we want to celebrate and highlight students AND staff for demonstrating perseverance in and out of school. Nominees, a description of their demonstration of the core value and their pictures will be forwarded to the school office; we will include the information in upcoming issues of the Paw Print as well as place the student or staff member's picture on the new bulletin board by the cafeteria.

This week we are celebrating 4 staff members who were nominated: Carman's 1st Grade Teacher Team! Their nomination states: "Perseverance in action - Our very own 1st grade team has taken on the challenge of meeting all of their students needs. They have gone above & beyond to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed as readers: seeking out resources, creating and organizing materials and ultimately working side by side because they know that action and collaboration is what it takes to make a difference. • Activity Aides (age 16+) - $11.15/hr (increases to $12/hr Jan. 1)

• Activity Assistants (age 18+) - $12.50/hr

• Assistant Facilitators (age 18+) - $14.50/hr
