Welcome Back!
Dear Parents,
We have had such a great start to our 2023-2024 school year at Paine Elementary. Our teachers participated in important training over the summer on new curricular resources and best instructional practices. Our district rolled out the new Parent/Teacher Handbook. We had grade level assemblies with 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades to briefly review important information in the handbook. We continue to begin each day in the classroom with a brief Morning Meeting to build classroom community and set students up for a successful day of learning!
As always, school safety is our top priority. We partnered with Trussville Police and had an intruder lockdown drill on Friday, September 15th. Our students and teachers did a great job!
This year we will have our grade level assemblies for student recognitions quarterly instead of monthly. If your child is being recognized at one of the assemblies, you will receive notice from the teacher the week prior to the assembly.
TCS students will have an E-Learning Day on October 10th. Teachers will use this time for brief parent-teacher conferences on student progress. These will be offered in-person or Zoom at the parent’s request. Please look for information from your child’s teacher within the next week on how to sign up for a time.
This is going to be a great school year! We thank you for entrusting your precious little ones to us, and for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Lisa Lothspeich
STEM Certification
Proudly achieving STEM certification, where innovation and knowledge meet excellence.
We are a STEM Certified School. What does that mean? STEM education creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators. Innovation leads to new products and processes that sustain our economy. This innovation and science literacy depends on a solid knowledge base in the STEM areas. The STEM certificate in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics provides a comprehensive education to become highly qualified mathematics, science, and engineering teachers at the elementary and middle school levels.
Nurturing young minds with STEM from the very start.
