February Break
Please enjoy your February Break. There is no school February 19-23, 2024.
The school offices will be closed. If you need anything over the break, you can email Mr. Marshall at hmarshall@cbrsd.org.
And a very happy birthday to George Washington (he would be 292 years old this week!)
Fourth Grade NAEP Testing
Just a reminder that our 4th grade students were selected to complete the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) on Monday, February 26.
NAEP is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what students know and can do in various subjects. NAEP is administered by the National Center for Education Statistics, within the U.S. Department of Education. NAEP is different from our state assessments because it is a common measure of achievement across the country. In 2024, our school will take part in the NAEP pilot test. Results from the pilot test will not be publicly released but will be used to inform future NAEP assessments.
Stuffy Day! Monday, Feb 26
After winter break, a parent asked about having a "stuffy day" after breaks to help students transition back to school. What a great idea!
On Monday, February 26th, we will have a stuffy day where students are invited to bring in a stuffed animal to support their adjustment back to school after a week away.
Spirit Day - February 29th
We will be celebrating the leap day by LEAPing into spring for February's spirit day. We encourage students to wear green to celebrate leaping frogs and the color of spring! Feel free to get creative as we say goodbye to February and wish for an early spring.
Preschool Screening Registration
Do you have a student of preschool age? While we have limited spots available, the first step is complete a screening. If you are interested in scheduling a screening appoint, please fill out the form and someone will contact you to schedule a screening.
Lost and Found Items
Click to expand the pictures below to browse through our extensive lost and found collection. If you see something you recognize, email Mrs. Jenkins at sjenkins@cbrsd.org with a description of the item so we can get it back to your student.
School Report Cards
Every year, each public school and school district in Massachusetts receives a report card. Just as your student’s report card shows how they are doing in different subjects, the school’s report card is designed to show families how our school is doing in different areas.
Please see the attached letter for more information.

Family Benchmark Reports
An academic focus area for CBRSD this year is the development of early literacy skills as well as the identification of literacy-focused intervention needs for K-6. The intention is to provide proactive and early intervention so that as content becomes more challenging, our students have the necessary skills to handle it.
In order to keep our families informed, we will be sending home the results of a newly adopted foundational benchmark literacy assessment that is administered in grades K-6 called Amplify. This will be sent in early March as we conclude our winter benchmark period. I will include more details once distribution plans are finalized.
