MRHS holds Spring Breakfast of Excellence
Audiobook SYNC has begun!
Every Thursday until August 17, AudioFile Magazine is giving away a thematic pair of audiobooks to everyone who signs up for the program. Visit the 2022 SYNC Audiobooks page on the library website to find out how to participate.
This week's theme is "Political Reckoning.” This thematic pair includes Federico Finchelstein’s A Brief History of Fascist Lies, which examines several 20th century fascist leaders and how lying helped them to gain power. No-No Boy by Ken Narasaki is the second half of this week’s pair. This L.A. Theater Works adaptation of John Okada’s novel brings the story of a Japanese-American man who has just been released from an internment camp to life.
Both books have a 35,999 day check out, but they do need to be checked out by May 18th.

Key Club & Lower Cape Kiwanis raised $450 for Ukraine
On Monday, May 2nd, at the annual Harwich Town Meeting, the Key Club helped the Lower Cape Kiwanis Club host a bake sale. The two Key Club advisors, Ms. Howe (faculty advisor) and Ed McManus (Kiwanis advisor), and a Key Club parent, helped run the bake sale table. The Key Club helped the Lower Cape Kiwanis Club raise about $450, all of which has been donated to Ukraine through the World Central Kitchen. The World Central Kitchen is an organization that supplies food to families in Ukraine. Thank you to all of the Key Club members who made baked goods in preparation for the event - it could not have been such a success without their involvement! If you are interested in donating to the World Central Kitchen, follow this link: https://www.wck.org/.
Monomoy High Schoolers Volunteer at Dog-Walking Event for Sampson Fund
On Saturday, May 14th, members of the Interact Club, Animal Welfare Club, and Key Club volunteered at the Walk N’ Wag event. The volunteers helped set up, direct parking, monitor the trails and tents, and clean up. It was a great event led by the Harwich Conservation Trust to raise awareness for a nonprofit called the Sampson Fund. The Sampson Fund is devoted to providing financial assistance to people who cannot afford medical treatment for their pets. Thank you to everyone who helped out at this wonderful event, and thank you to Ann Beckert and the rest of the Walk N’ Wag Committee for getting Monomoy High Schoolers involved!
