Jammers Basketball
Developing Skilled Basketball Players to be Successful
Tryouts Moved Due to Weather
Due to the weather, fall sports at Ray-Pec High are being moved indoors. These practices are in direct conflict with our Jammers Tryouts.
We will be moving our tryouts to Monday, August 28th, and Tuesday, August 29th nights next week from 6:30-8:30. Please notify as many as possible so they are aware of the new dates.
Join Our Team
The Jammers Basketball teams will be forming on August 28th and 29th at Ray-Pec High School. Don't miss out on this opportunity for your child to be a part of one of the best basketball clubs in Kansas City.
Parent Meeting
We will have an information meeting to discuss the program at 7:15 each of the nights of tryouts. The Jammers Basketball organization is excited about sharing the vision of the program in this setting. Coaches of the individual teams will have more detailed meetings at a later date when the teams are finalized.
Bring A Basketball
Due to the number of interested basketball players, we are asking players to bring a basketball. It's important they mark their ball. Another idea would be to put the basketball in a small bag (even a plastic grocery bag is perfect) to keep one ball separated from the others.
Uniforms
All players will need to purchase uniforms. We will have uniform information online and at the tryouts when samples arrive. Below is a picture of the uniforms for the Jammers.

Jammers Speak a Common Language
Often times coaches ask players to perform skills or tasks without knowing if the player understands the basic language. It would be like asking a child to get a crescent wrench. They might know where all the tools are kept but likely couldn't return with the correct tool. We have developed a common terminology to improve communication with our players. This also allows our players to communicate better with one another. Many of the terms are "correct ways" of performing skills rather than incorrect or less successful ways that are bad habits. It's just another way that the Jammers prepares your child to be successful.
