- The FINAL installment of the 2023-24 band fees was due Sept 1, 2023. Please refer to the Band Fee Payment document for more information. If you have questions, please contact our treasurer - treasurer@grapevinehsband.com.

Our first NTCA Competition is Saturday, February 3 at Red Oak High School!
Student Volunteers, please join us Friday, February 2 at 6 pm, likely in gym 2 for a full run through so we are prepared for competition days.
The SignUpGenius has been updated to reflect all volunteer opportunities including next Friday night's rehearsal run through - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0849AAA72DAAF85-47364182-ghswinter.
- Lunch will be provided on competition days - Google form lunch selection will be sent out early next week through the email you use for the Signup Genius
- Dinner is on your own, we encourage members to bring either a sack lunch or money for concessions
The itinerary will be final Wednesdays before competitions and will be shared then, also through the email you use for the SignUpGenius.

Uptempo Fundraiser
Our LARGEST fundraiser of the year is right around the corner. The Uptempo fundraiser is a crowdsourced fundraiser designed to raise our band money by collecting small donations from many sources (friends and family).
Each student has a goal of $500, setting our program goal of $60,000.

Start gathering your contacts now. Our “blitz” day will be on Tuesday, February 6 after school. This is a required event unless you have utilized the buyout option prior to 2/6.

Please make sure you are staying on top of the payment schedule for the Spring Band Trip. All trips need to be paid in full by February 15th. There is a parent meeting for the trip on January 20th.

Scholarship Opportunities
H-E-B is a Corporate Sponsor of the UIL and has its annual H-E-B Scholarship Program for Community Service Excellence opportunity.
Nominees must have the following submitted to https://www.sportsinaction.com/scholarship by no later than Feb. 2nd, 2024:
- Minimum 3.3 GPA
- Number of Community Service Hours completed in the last 12 months
- Community Service Verification Letters to document the number of hours submitted
- A Letter of Recommendation
- A Short Essay (500 words or less) on the topic: “What does Community mean to you?”
There will be fifteen (15) total winners – five (5) each in music, academics and athletics – and each will be awarded $2,000 from H-E-B. An announcement of the winners will be made during the 2024 UIL Texas Girls & Boys Basketball State Championships.
Please make your students and/or support staff aware of this opportunity.

University of Mary Hardin Baylor Arts Rush
UMHB is hosting an event at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Belton, TX) on Friday, January 26 for any high school Juniors and Seniors who are interested in music at the collegiate level. The event is called ArtsRush and it is a full day consisting of music class sampling, performances, opportunities to play with our ensembles, and more. Food and T-shirts are provided!
There is an early-bird discount that goes through this Friday for $25, after that it will increase to $30.

On March 23 flutist from all over the nation will join together to make music, make friends, participate in the Anatomy of Sound program and develop Flute Yoga skills. Participants will also join in our first SERVICE PROJECT providing music supplies to 3rd world countries through a program called “Music Camp Abroad”. Please send instruments and music supplies for donating.
#wcflutefestival will provide 3 lucky participants with a FREE SWAG BAG as well as opportunities to shop at our vendors such as Carolyn Nussbaum’s “one stop flute shop” and Win-D-Fender.
