FFA members attend Fall Leadership Workshop
On October 4th, nine FFA members attended the Fall Leadership Workshop at Albany High School. The Wisconsin FFA Fall Leadership Workshop is designed to prepare local FFA chapter officers and members both in high school and middle school for leadership roles in their school district for the upcoming year. It also informs each chapter of the new programs available to all FFA members and allows the officers to exchange ideas with other FFA chapters in their area.

SPEHS Progress Report
It is hard to believe that we are already at our first progress report of the year! We are excited about the teaching and learning that has been taking place during the first four and a half weeks. This progress report is a chance to take a quick look at where students are at this moment in time. There is still lots of time and support for students to learn and bring up their grades if they aren’t where they want to be yet. As we approach progress reports being shared, we wanted to give you a quick update on grading practices that we shared at the beginning of the year.
Earlier in the year we shared that students must complete all of their summative assessments in order to pass the class. This was done in an effort to create consistency where there was inconsistency last year and to ensure that our teachers are able to provide feedback to students on their skills and knowledge to help them grow.
Here’s a quick update:
A ‘zero’ (0) will be entered for any summative assessment not attempted during the semester.
At grading windows - teachers will enter the reported letter grade to “I” (Incomplete) at each reporting period.
The purpose of the zero and (I) Incomplete is to notify families about missing summative assessments.
Teachers will be reaching out to communicate to parents/caregivers if their student is missing a summative assessment and/or receiving an “I” during progress reports.
We look forward to continuing to grow together this year. Please let us know what questions you have. Thanks!
SPEHS E-SPORTS
A message from Esports advisors, Jim Halverson and Kyle Bliefernicht.
Here are some pictures from the past few weeks. Last Monday, October 2nd, district media was in to snap some pictures and interview some students. We are a few weeks in and starting to hit our stride with all of the rules and procedures. The students have been wonderful and are enjoying practice and meets.
Thank you for all the help and support!
