Quarter 2 Semester 1 Report Cards
If you need access to Parent Portal, please contact tanesha_simmons@charleston.k12.sc.us
QUARTER 1 REPORT CARDS
We want to make you aware, now, that Quarter 2/Semester 1 report cards will not be issued until the rest of CCSD ends the second quarter, which occurs on February 8, 2021. The reason for this is the need to wait for our homeschool partners to store grades in PowerSchool which is the process by which grades are locked for each term. You will be able to check the status of your child's Q2/Sem 1 grade at any time through the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
On January 5, 2021, ECHS teachers will begin entering grades in the Quarter 3/Semester 2 term in PowerSchool. Because Q3 does not start until February 8, 2021, for the remainder of the district, we will need to date all assignments as having any date between January 5, 2021, and February 8, 2021. Where the assigned date is not the actual date that the assignment was collected, the teacher will indicate the actual date of the assignment in the name of the assignment.
We know that this can all sound complicated until you see it "live", so in the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out should you have any questions.

If you have questions about testing, please contact our AP, Ms. Earle.
End of Course Exams - Any student enrolled in Algebra 1, Biology or English 2.
Students must take EOCs on campus.
December 14th (7:45-2:30) English 2
December 15th (7:45-11:30) Biology
December 16th (7:45-11:30) Algebra 1
December 17th (7:45-11:30) Makeup
Parents of virtual students should have received an email regarding RSVP for the testing days relevant for their son or daughter since they must be on campus. Please complete the survey here if you have not already done so.
Final Exams for Semester 1
Final exams for all students in high school classes will take place on December 10 (Blocks 1 and 3) and December 11 (Blocks 2 and 4) during regular class times with the exception of Biology.
Note: Per the CCSD memo below either the EOC or Final exam grade will count as 20% of a student's semester 1 grade; whichever is higher. Students in Biology will take their final exam on December 17th. It is important to note that if a student is not present for the Biology End of Course exam on 12/15, he or she must take the EOC rather than the final exam on 12/17 therefore the EOC grade would be considered as 20% of the course.
Attendance Notifications
Each of our calendar days is equivalent to a day on the CCSD calendar. You can find a list of dates 2020-21 on this crosswalk document. For example, our first day of school was August 18, 2020, but the district's first day of school was September 8, 2020, so the attendance that we recorded on August 18 will be reflected in PowerSchool on September 8. Friday, November 13, 2020, is our 59th day of school and will be recorded in PowerSchool as December 4, 2020.
For now, if you receive a call please be aware that the call is for the CCSD equivalent date. For example, if you receive a call on Monday, November 30 about your student, the call is really in reference to your student's attendance at ECHS on November 9, 2020. We are working with the vendor to develop a way to have calls to parents reflect the student's attendance on the date that the parent receives the call. In the meantime, we greatly appreciate your patience!
We know this can get tricky, so please reach out to any one of us if you have questions.
IMPORTANT: eLEARNING DAYS ADDED TO THE CALENDAR
The Board voted to adjust the CCSD calendar to make January 15, February 22, March 15, April 30, and May 17 e-Learning days at home for all students.
Students will not report to campus on these days. All high school classes will be assigned asynchronous work to document attendance. Students enrolled in TTC classes SHOULD still tune into their TTC classes if the class has a synchronous meeting time on any of those days.
