Happy Holiday's Parents and Guardians!

As we celebrate the holiday season and wrap up 2022, us at the Parent Institute extend our heartfelt gratitude to our students, employees, and families. This year has taught us so much about ourselves, learning to be patient, determined, community-minded, and compassionate. We are so immensely proud of how our community has come together to support our students. There are plenty of workshops that we have for our families this month that we'd like to share with you, please continue on through to have a look.

Rialto Unified School District's Student Services presents Fentanyl Awareness a discussion led by Mr. Steve Filson, Founder of V.O.I.D. (Victims of Illicit Drugs), about the dangers of Fentanyl. Young Visionaries a nonprofit organization that helps in services of education, employment, health, mentoring, and community service invites you to participate in this IN PERSON workshop/discussion Tuesday, December 13 from 5PM to 6PM. This workshop/discussion will also be available VIRTUALLY.

Families, did you know that we have access to FREE workshops for families? Through a collaboration between our district and the Multilingual California Project and CABE, the Parent and Family Engagement Program focuses on building leadership capacity and leveraging community knowledge to inform, support and enhance teaching and learning so that ALL students can graduate from college and be career ready. These workshops will take place on Wednesdays beginning in October and are provided in SPANISH with English translation if needed. We have access to some free spaces, but they are limited - sign up today! More information is available at: bit.ly/pfemcap22

Band together with friends and spend a few hours on a weekend serving meals, organizing donations, or cleaning up at a local charity. Call or look online to see whether organizations—shelters, soup kitchens, day cares, and clothing drives, for instance—are taking volunteers. Many are open and eager for helping hands, even more so during winter and around the holidays.
