Dear Indian Trail Families,

Welcome back to a new and exciting school year! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable summer break, filled with fun and memorable moments. As we prepare to embark on this new academic journey together, I want to express how thrilled I am to welcome back our returning students and to extend a warm greeting to all our new students and their families.

The start of a new school year always brings a sense of anticipation and enthusiasm, and this year is no exception. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff has been working diligently to prepare engaging and enriching learning experiences for your children. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Communication and collaboration between home and school are key to our students' success. We encourage you to stay involved and connected with your child's education. Please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher, our school counselor, or myself with any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have. Please remember Parent Square is the platform used by the SMF district for communication, as well as email. Please be sure all of your child's Final Forms are completed and updated so we have the most accurate information on emergency contact, medical, field trip permission, and so much more. Together, we can make this school year a truly outstanding one.

It was so wonderful seeing everyone at the Grades 1-4 Open House and Popsicles on the Playground this past Monday. We can't wait to welcome back our 1st-4th grade students on Monday, August 26th. Please see arrival and dismissal procedures below. Open House for our Kindergarten students will be on August 29th from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. Preschool Open House is on August 29th with AM students from 5:00-5:45 pm and PM students from 5:45-6:30 pm. Parents and students will have the opportunity to meet your child's teacher, visit the classroom, and learn more about the exciting plans we have for the year ahead.

Arrival Procedures:

• To ensure the safety of all students, parents and guardians are reminded that students cannot be dropped off before 8:45am due to no supervision.
• If your child is a car rider please follow the line and pull along the curb allowing your child to get out of the car along the curbside only.
• Students may enter the building to start the school day at 8:55 am. If your child is eating breakfast at school they will enter starting at 8:45 am.
• The tardy bell rings at 9:05 am. If your child is late arriving to school, please walk them into the main office to sign them in.
• Please remember no students are permitted to walk through the parking lot without an adult accompanying them.

Dismissal Procedures:

• Dismissal begins at 3:30pm
• Car riders will be picked up using the car rider lane. Please hang your tag from the rearview mirror so that school staff can see it easily. We ask that parents remain in their cars and your child will be dismissed and supervised to your vehicle.
• Parents who wish to have their child released from school prior to the end of the academic day will need to come into the office to check their student out. Notification of an expected absence or appointment should be given to the teacher and secretary in advance whenever possible.

Transportation:

If your student will be riding the bus this school year, please download My RideK-12. This gives you up to the minute bus location for pick up and drop off times. Please see the directions (link attached below) and more information about My Ride K-12 on the district website under the transportation tab. • Arrival & Dismissal: Please walk your child(ren) to the front doors and wait for preschool staff to get/bring your child(ren) to you directly. This includes PM dismissal at 3:15pm. Preschool Cars DO NOT have to wait in the dismissal car line.
