WHAT EXACTLY IS THE WELLNESS PROGRAM?
Wellness counselors provide 1:1 support and teach skills to students such as coping, self-awareness, stress-management, social awareness relationship skills, responsible decision-making, and problem solving.
Drop-In Policy
Students may come in for a 1x session, or if in a crisis, without a consent form. At the end of the session, the counselor and student may determine if additional services are needed. appointments are not necessary for drop-ins. Drop-in hours: M-F 8am-4pm. All individual meetings are held in-person with safety precautions in place at this time until further notice. Drop-Ins are during snack and lunch. Students may use the Online Wellness Check-in-form link below to request a 1x session.
Referral Forms + Consent
Referrals may come in from academic counselors, administrators, faculty, parents and peers. Students may also self-refer to be seen by a wellness counselor. Referrals will be assessed for appropriateness, then services will be offered. Thereafter, a consent form will be sent home to be signed by a parent or legal guardian for continued services.

Higher Levels of Care
If a student is in a crisis and needs additional support (i.e. depressive symptoms, suicidal ideation or homicidal ideation), then a crisis intervention will take place by the crisis intervention team. We may refer students out to community agencies should they need additional services. * In a life threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Community Referrals
Students that are identified as needing additional support may be referred to community agencies. Those who have Medi-Cal or do not have any medical insurance can be referred to district partners in the community. Students with private insurance are advised to access mental health services through their provider.
Additional Areas of Support
-Link students and families to community resources (i.e. food, clothing, school supplies, etc.)
-Informative presentations on stress reduction, ways to support students
-Student Success Team Meetings (SST)
