Fitness Class Update
Many of our remote learners participated successfully in a short gymnastics unit where they had a chance to improve their core strength and challenge themselves with a series of balances and easy gymnastic moves. All these activities are completely optional, and caregivers should work with children to find what activities are challenging yet safe.
Our next topic also requires caregiver supervision. We will look at indoor obstacle courses that students can develop themselves, similar to Parkour which is traveling over/under obstacles. If students do not have the space or do not feel comfortable with this activity they can continue working on their balances, skipping, juggling, core exercise, flexibility training etc. As always we do a warm up and exercise session every class.
If you have any questions, please contact Scott Lockhart at scott.lockhart@sjasd.ca

An important page to review can be found at: Remote Learning | Manitoba Remote Learning Support Centre (mbremotelearning.ca)
On it you will find the roles and responsibilities of:
- the Remote Learning Support Centre
- the Parent/Caregiver
- the Home Division
Keep in touch with your child’s teacher on a regular basis to learn about your child’s progress and engagement. If your child must be away on a day or part of a day, please inform your child’s teacher so they can mark attendance accordingly. RLSC teachers take attendance once in the morning and once in the afternoon. If a child is marked ABSENT two times in one day, the caregiver will receive a phone call from Mrs. Lori Vassart (lori.vassart@sjasd.ca) to check in to see if things are ok and to encourage attendance the next day.
RLSC Clubs Sign Up
Sign up anytime! Once this form is completed, the teacher running the club will invite students to a TEAMs meeting to participate!
Note: If a student signs up for a club and it happens during a synchronous lesson, the student must attend the synchronous lesson and then join the club when the lesson is over.
Students can sign up for these opportunities here: RLSC Clubs Registration Page.
Important: an @sjasd.ca email account must be used to access the registration page.
