Board Meeting Update and TK-5 Grades Elementary Waiver

Waiver for TVUSD TK-5th Grades Elementary On-Campus Instruction

As we shared in our last update, Riverside County Public Health has released information on the waiver process for TK-6 grade campuses. Because TVUSD's campuses are Tk-5, 6-8, and 9-12, we are only able to consider applying for a waiver for our Tk-5 campuses.

The administration provides an online learning update at each Board meeting. Below is the video from the September 1, 2020 Board meeting. The video has been set to begin at the online learning presentation. The waiver discussion begins at the time marker 2:50:08.

Currently, the District has prepared the draft application for the waiver. The next steps involve collaborating with TVUSD's employee labor associations, TVEA and CSEA, to seek support for the waiver. The administration will share an update on the waiver at the September 15, 2020 board meeting.

TVUSD's Learning HUBS

The State has provided guidance and authorization for school districts to create learning hubs to address the needs of identified significant student groups in need of supports that are not able to be met through the online learning program. TVUSD is in the process of aggressively evaluating options and logistics required to implement the various hubs. We begin two non-instructional hubs for identified English learners today, Tuesday, September 8. Click on the link below to view information about the continuing development of the learning hubs.
