๐๐ฉโโ๏ธ Our District Nurse Ms. Amy McGuire, taking care of RMS Staff ๐ฉโโ๏ธ๐
Last Wednesday, February 15th, our beautiful Nurse, Ms. Amy McGuire, took the time to dedicate a couple of hours of her busy day to the RMS staff, and with her magic touch and her digital blood pressure monitor, she checked the blood pressure of several staff members during "Love Your Heart" week. Thank you so much, Amy, for taking care of the RMS Teachers and Staff and for just being you!

VTO (Vista Teen Outreach) President Mrs. Becky Kwock visits RMS
Mrs. Becky Kwock has been an active volunteer with VTO since 2013. During her tenure at VTO, she has worn many hatsโfrom school rep to interim treasurer to vice president and now currently President. Becky now oversees all aspects of Vista Teen Outreach, from donor retention to grant applications to all of the operations. Becky also represents VTO at the North County Food Policy Council and Alliance of Regional Solutions meetings.
Mrs. Becky visited RMS last Thursday to make sure we have enough information about food resources for our RMS students. She thanked our community liaison for organizing the pantry each week and providing food bags to students all these years. She also talked about planning in the near future to provide donations of hygiene products for our families in need.
The VTO's mission, is to provide food and essentials to hungry teens in the Vista Unified School District. Learn more about the amazing VTO History here: VTO History

LCAP SURVEY
Every school district in the state of California is required to develop a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) to outline the actions and services that will support student academic, social, and behavioral achievement. We call our LCAP the Blueprint for Educational Excellence and Innovation. The LCAP must go through an annual revision process to ensure that students, parents, teachers, and staff members have the opportunity to provide feedback on the current actions and services and to make suggestions for additional actions and services that students need to reach their full potential as learners. We are hosting community forums and a district-wide survey to capture this feedback. Please see the information below to share your voice and engage in our annual LCAP revision process.
Community Forums:
Virtual Community Forum - March 1st from 5:30-6:30 pm, Click HERE for a Zoom link
In-Person Community Forum - March 7th from 5:30-6:30 pm at the Vista Innovation Center

Digital Citizenship in VUSD: What EVERY Family Needs to Know!
Our Big Ask: We Need You!
This year, we are asking all of our families to partner with us in focusing on the wildly important: digital citizenship. Our goal is to equip our students with the skills they need to become thoughtful, empathetic digital citizens in an increasingly connected world. At our January 10th District Professional Development Day, all staff will engaged in a two-hour training in digital citizenship. In addition, all students will take part in digital citizenship lessons, including the Five Competencies of Digital Citizenship.
We need you! The deep work of digital citizenship will take all of our collective efforts to make an impact on the digital lives of our students.
I'd like to thank the commitment of our Technology Advisory Group, and the entire VUSD staff for engaging in this important work for our students.
To jumpstart your commitment, read this entire newsletter for everything you need to launch digital citizenship with your family!
