Announcements and Reminders
GCPS Chromebooks
Parents and students, we need your assistance! To perform necessary maintenance, we will collect all Chromebooks before students depart for the summer break, ensuring they are in optimal condition for the next school year.
- Seniors are required to turn in their Chromebook, charger, and bag after their last exam; if exempt from exams, they must submit these items on Thursday, May 18, or immediately following their final required exam (whichever period applies).
- Graduation tickets will only be distributed once all outstanding Chromebooks, chargers, bags, or any additional expenses have been settled.
- For all other students, please turn in your Chromebook, charger, and bag after your last exam on Wednesday, May 24; teachers will maintain a sign-in sheet with your name and number to guarantee that you receive the same equipment when school resumes in August.
- For students requiring their Chromebook during summer school or credit recovery, we will ensure it is available for check-out before the summer session commences, providing seamless access to necessary learning resources.
End-of-Semester Withdrawals - Start the Process Now
As the end of the semester approaches, we understand that some families may need to initiate the withdrawal process for their students. To ensure a smooth and timely transition, please begin the process as soon as possible.
To initiate the withdrawal process, please email Ms. Carson Weiner at carson.weiner@gcpsk12.org or call her at 678-288-0800. The necessary forms will be completed in person and only enrolling parents or guardians may complete them. Starting the process early will help shorten the wait time for your student's withdrawal packet. Final transcripts will be available after June 2.
Please note that initiating the withdrawal process early does not affect your student's ability to take final exams. Your student will be officially withdrawn from Seckinger after the last day of school. All withdrawing students must return the following items before May 24:
- Chromebooks
- Chargers
- Bags
- Textbooks
- Library books
- Outstanding fees
Final Transcripts Available After June 2
We would like to inform you that final transcripts for this academic year will be available after June 2. Please make note of this date if you need to request a transcript for college applications, scholarships, or any other purposes. All students will receive an unofficial transcript by mail the week of June 5. To request an official transcript, please follow the procedure outlined on our school website at https://www.gcpsk12.org/Domain/14916
Retrieving Medications from the Clinic Before the Last Day of School
As we approach the end of the school year, we would like to remind parents and guardians who have stored medication for their child in the school clinic to retrieve it before the last day of school. Please note that medications must be picked up by a parent or an adult listed on the student's emergency check-out list. For the safety of our students, medications will not be sent home with students. To retrieve your child's medication, please visit the clinic during regular school hours. We encourage you to do this as soon as possible to ensure a smooth and timely return of medications.
Notes from the Library
All library books were due back on Friday, May 12th. Please be sure to return any library books on your account if you haven't already done so. If you would like to renew your books for the summer (9th-11th grade only), please stop by the Library or email Joni.Gilman@gcpsk12.org.
Take 5 for the Summer!
Students are invited to check out up to FIVE books to read over the summer. Summer checkouts begin Monday, May 15th. Students can put books on hold in the Library Catalog for delivery, or students can stop by the Library before or after school or during lunch to make their selections.
Textbooks
If you checked out any textbooks at the beginning of last semester, then please return them before the last day of school. Email Joni.gilman@gcpsk12.org with any textbook or library book questions.
