So much to see and do at the Fowler School! #OneMaynard
We are #OneMaynard #UmaMaynard #UnoMaynard
Week of May 8-12, 2023
Parents, you have SPOILED us this week with food and gifts. We feel so appreciated by your love and support. Thank you for making Teacher Appreciation Week the best one yet! Most of all, thank you for entrusting us with your most precious children every day.
Lost And Found!!
MCAS UPDATE! Grades 6-7 will test in Mathematics next week, and Grades 5/8 will test in Science. #ShowWhatYouKnow
For some mysterious reason, many of us are twinning today! #FowlerFamily
The Girls in Engineering "Bone Lab" event was a huge hit yesterday at Fowler. Thank you to Jean Garlisi, Kaitlyn Corrigan, and everyone else who made this event impactful, interesting, and fun!
Thinking of attending the Town Meeting next week? If you need childcare, we got you! Bring your child and $10 ($20 family max). Children must be potty trained. Thanks to Jennifer Ramirez with the Girl Scouts for offering this service to support our local democracy!
Could Finley's tights be considered cheating on Gr. 4 MCAS? MAYBE! (If they learn calculus in Grade 4!)
Media Literacy Survey for all parents! (Gracie G's Senior Project)
Last year, as part of her senior project, Gracie Gilligan worked with the organization Media Literacy Now and surveyed middle and high school students on their knowledge of media literacy.
This year, I received a grant from the MEF to work with the same organization and use a similar survey for adults in our district. This includes all teachers and staff as well as parents.
Our goal is to have a snapshot of the whole district on the concept of media literacy. Then working with the group Media Literacy Now, we will plan professional development and design curricula around the topic.
Please take 15 minutes at some point today or in the next week to answer these questions. Again, this is open and requested to ALL teachers, staff, and parents in the district:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MaynardPS
We will produce a report to document our findings. This is completely anonymous.
Thank you to Ms. Swenson for a fabulous book fair last week!

GREEN MEADOW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECT
The Green Meadow Elementary School project team has submitted its second MSBA submission! This submission is called the Preferred Schematic Report (PSR) and it advances the initial existing conditions verification, educational visioning & programming and Owner / Community coordination into multiple design alternatives, shows MSBA the design alternative evaluation process taken by the project team, and highlights which design alternative was ultimately selected at the end of the process.
Below is a link to a Google Drive folder that contains the previous Preliminary Design Program (PDP) submission as well as the recent PSR submission. As always, we thank you very much for your attention to the project, and we’ll continue to keep you informed as the project moves along the MSBA process!
