MPE Weekly Roar

Principal's Message
Good afternoon MPE Families,
We would like to express our gratitude for the generous candy donations! Your contributions have been truly remarkable, and we are delighted to support those in our community who may be facing challenging circumstances.
We trust that your recent parent-teacher conferences were productive, and that you can collaborate effectively with your child's teacher to ensure a successful year of learning.
Consider sending your teacher a note of appreciation as they work very hard to prepare for the meetings.
As we approach an extended weekend, we encourage you to take some time to reassess your family's schedules and routines. It is important to maintain a consistent schedule for your child, ensuring they have dedicated time for reading, proper rest, and well-planned, nutritious meals and snacks. We also recommend staying updated with the daily lunch menu.
We take pride in our MPE Lions! They demonstrate dedication to their academic and social growth each day. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. LPS is an outstanding place to learn and grow!
A big shout-out to the MPE PTA for the delicious, spooky Halloween treats and those special snacks during conference days. We can't thank you enough! We feel very appreciated. Best PTA ever.
The Livingston Police Department came this week to talk to the students in grades 3-5 and Mrs. Kelner and Dr. Dolan spoke to the same students about the NJ laws regarding HIB (Harrassment, Intimidation and Bullying.) Please try to attend the next general PTA meeting as we will be doing a parent training on HIB.
Don't forget to purchase your tickets to the Wizards Basketball Game on December 2, 2023. Please review the PTA blast for details.
Have a great weekend!
Proud 2B MPE,
Dr. Dolan

LPD Visit
Special Parent Program
Dear LPS Community:
Please join us at 7PM on Monday, November 13th, for a special parent program entitled, "Tending to Mental Health in a Time of Global Grief." The program, which will be presented by Lisa Athan of Grief Speaks, will be held in the Heritage Middle School auditorium, 20 Foxcroft Drive. This program is for adults only. No registration is necessary. We hope to see you there.
Citizenship
During the month of November, MPE will be focusing on the pillar of Citizenship. Good citizens do their share to help their communities by being kind neighbors, obeying laws/rules, protecting the environment, and respecting authority. Good citizens show sportsmanship and take responsibility for their actions and words. Students at MPE will participate in lessons on citizenship and participate in a pajama drive later. The MPE students and staff work hard each day to find the spirit and determination to be the best we can, knowing that in doing so, we benefit the whole of our communities.
To celebrate our pillar of the month, Citizenship, we will be dressing in PURPLE on November 7, 2023!
MPE Cultural Celebrations Committee
Did you know that there are nearly 60 countries and cultures represented in the MPE Community?
At MPE, we want to celebrate what makes us different! Please join us as we help our children explore the world and all of the cultures at MPE! The Cultural Celebrations Committee facilitates several exciting celebrations observing various global cultures & traditions represented at MPE. This is made possible with help from amazing parent volunteers & presenters who run the show. The presenters deliver a short lesson followed by a hands-on experience (craft, game, dance, etc). It's imperative that parents lead by example through engaging in presentations of various cultures, not just their own. The presentations and activities are pre-created, reviewed and approved by the cultural celebrations committee and its volunteers in partnership with the school administration.
This year is being kicked off by celebrating Hispanic Heritage in honor of National Hispanic Heritage month celebrated annually between Sep and Oct. We believe that recognizing the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States can be celebrated all year around.
If you are interested in presenting and engaging students with an activity, please sign up below.
