We plucked this out of the Taranaki Daily News today and it seems quite apt. We acknowledge our whanau, families, businesses and colleagues who Are in Auckland and have life a lot tougher under L3, than we do under L2.

We thank ALL the Essential Workers who are again tirelessly and selflessly ensuring key businesses are able to be kept open for the wider community of Aotearoa.

We have restrictions to work within under level 2. We will highlight the ones that affect the larger School Community. Thank you all for your continued support and kindness at this time.

While we can hold assemblies at school (spaced out) we are unable to have extra visitors on site - thank you for your undestanding.

Due to L2 Restrictions while we WILL run our School Cross Country on Thursday, we are UNABLE to have parents and visitors on our school grounds to watch.

Children aged 5, 6, 7 will be running inside the school grounds. We will try to FB livestream the event and take photos. Make sure you like our School FaceBook page.

Children who are aged 8 and over will be running the course including our bottom and top fields out the back, then exiting the grounds out of Hodge Park, out to Miro Street, heading down to Kelly Street, along Kelly Street and back into school.

Again we will live stream the finish of each race where possible.

The large sports exchange for Puke Haupapa Students which was due to take place tomorrow has been cancelled. This is due to over 700 students being involved in various codes at various venues, we cannot meet the requirements of operating at L2.

Welcome to Boston Baker, Maddison Cameron, Kayden Cameron and Freya Baeyertz who have joined us this week at IPS.

Children from Panitahi O'Connor showed outstanding social skills at Marinoto. Their smiles and kindness really brightened the day for the residents.

The young pirates sang a pirate song, recited poems, danced, gave musical performances, sang waiata Māori and said their pepeha. They gave residents hand-made cards and pieces of pirate gold, chatted with new friends and played board games.

Some families have already arranged a follow-up visit with their Marinoto friends.

We are delighted to announce Net Safe Session for all staff and parents coming to Inglewood. The Sessions for Staff will be NOW held on Thursday 27 August 3:30 - 4:30 and then All Parents 7-8pm. The sessions will take place at Inglewood High School. All members of our Inglewood Community and surrounding Early Childhoods and Schools are invited. Please mark this on the calendar.

Earlier this year, prior to lockdown, Tranzit Coachlines worked with their drivers to develop two
videos about school bus safety and appropriate student behaviour on the school bus.

These videos are to reassure parents and caregivers that the school bus is a safe way to travel to school and help eliminate any concerns they may have, especially when their child (who
maybe as young as 5 years old) uses the bus for the first time.

The first video talks about a student’s first school bus journey (“Staying Cool on the School Bus”) and the second video is about appropriate student behaviour on the school (“Best Bus Behaviour”).

We really appreciate the positive actions and great modelling by parents during drop off to school and pick up from school times. We are at the gate every morning and afternoon and really appreciate the positive chats and appropriate actions of pedestrians and drivers.

Thank you for waiting at the pedestrian crossing, while pedestrians cross in the cold winter weather. We really value the effort of the children who diligently undertake their responsibilities as Road Patrollers in all weather. We are also very grateful to the parents who assist us with Miro Street Crossings as well.

Please remember to notify the office if your child will be absent from school. Please state your name, child's name and reason for absence each day. The Ministry of Education treats all absences without a reason as truant.Thank you
