First Spirit Wear Sale!
It’s time to get your LWMB spirit wear. Check out the clothing and other items for sale in CHARMS at https://www.charmsoffice.com/charms2/login.asp. You will find new items as well as old favorites that let you show your LWMB pride and support your favorite member. Make sure to place your order today for parents, grandparents, siblings, other family, and friends to wear at parades and competitions.
Get your orders in as soon as possible because all orders are due June 4th. Please note there is no guarantee that we will be able to offer these items again this year. As a reminder, IFA funds cannot be used for these spirit wear items.
If you have any questions, please contact Denise Bednar at lwmb.spiritwear2@gmail.com.
Summer Camp Tips for Success:
*Do some physical activity to help prepare your body for the LWMB season. Get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather, take walks, ride your bike, jog, etc.
*Keep yourself hydrated especially as the first week of June camp gets closer.
*Find/purchase your water jug. We recommend the students bring at least a half gallon size water jug to every rehearsal. Label the jug with your name, so if it is accidentally left behind, it can be returned to you!
*Spend some time each day playing your instrument. This will help your endurance when we have our longer rehearsals. Working on the parade music to prepare for our first performance of the year at the Mokena 4th of July Parade will help you memorize the music and will make us sound great at the parade!
*Make sure you are signed up for Remind messages to keep informed over the summer and students should make sure they have a way to contact their section leaders if they have questions leading up to our first rehearsal.
Clothing and shoe tips:
*Invest in some good supportive gym shoes and wear them before the first day of camp to break them in. LWMB members are on their feet A LOT so good, well-fitting shoes are a must!
*At every rehearsal, the woodwinds and brass wear white shirts while the percussion, color guard and drum majors wear black shirts. Start looking for deals on these items now. Dri-fit material is great for wicking moisture away from the body as well!
LWMB Sponsorship
Thank you!
Color Guard - Looking for new members!
Do you know someone who loves to perform and/or dance? Do you know someone who wants to get involved in high school, but is not sure what to join?
Please share with any 8th graders or current high schoolers that the Lincoln-Way Marching Band is in need of approximately 20 more color guard members for the 2023 season. The color guard is an integral part to the success of our shows! The artistry, color and beautiful work they do is so important to our success!
Prospective color guard members do not need any prior experience. Please encourage anyone you know to reach out to one of the directors for more information.
