It has been so nice to see all of our Husky Pups at school! We are looking forward to a great year of learning this year. Please be sure to reach out to your child's teacher with any questions or concerns you have.

School Supplies

We want to ensure all students have what they need to be successful. If you're not sure of the school supplies your student needs, please reach out to their teacher.

Reusable Water Bottles

It is important to stay hydrated. Please send your child to school with a reusable water bottle everyday. It gets warm in our classrooms in the summer and fall and students need to drink plenty of water. We have refill stations on campus for students to use.

Safety To and From School

While the weather is so lovely, we have many students walking and biking to and from school. Please remember to have a safety discussion with your child prior to allowing them to walk or bike to school. Remind children to use the crosswalk and designated bike and pedestrian paths. Remember that helmets are required when biking. We have bike racks at school for student use, and we encourage your child to use a lock as well. If your child has a new routine like riding the bus, please send him/her with a note so the teacher knows exactly where to send your child after school. Safety is a major priority at MES.

This week we want to highlight the importance of reading to and with your child. Spending ten to twenty minutes reading to your child can help them in so many ways. Here's an article from PBS Kids for Parents that highlights Why Reading Aloud to Kids Helps them Thrive. At MES, we send home very little homework, but we encourage all students to read with their grown ups at home. Silent reading, being read to and reading with an adult all have great impact on a child.

Please call our attendance hotline to report your child’s absence @ 760-934-7162. If your child’s absence is not reported, it is considered unexcused.

Lessons for returning students begin the week of August 29. Please check your email for schedule and enrollment information. Interested new students should email: Felici@chamberMusicUnbound.org for information on enrolling. Classes for new students begin the week of September 22.

MES wants to thank the PTO for a wonderful back to school welcome with DJ Freshtracks, coffee and treats for the staff and families, and more!

PTO will have a social Wednesday evening, August 31, at Liberty Bar & Grill from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. All are welcome.

The PTO 1st general meeting of the year is Thursday morning, September 1, at 7:30am in the MES Library. We hope to see you there!
