Message from Administration
We are extremely fortunate to have educational partnerships at Lisbon Elementary School. Business partnerships benefit our school in many ways. Whether the business partnerships provide financial assistance, help enhance the curriculum, or allow students to learn basic life skills, everyone benefits from these collaborations.
In addition to the wide range of At-Large partners, our school benefits directly from a group of businesses and organizations. Please support the organizations that partner with our school.
We would like to thank the following businesses and organizations for their commitment to our school and students:
- A-OK Mentoring-Tutoring
- Howard County Public Library (Glenwood Branch)
- Howard County Local Children's Board
- Howard County Office of Community Sustainability
- Lisbon United Methodist Church
- RE/MAX Realty Plus
- Sandy Spring Band (Lisbon Branch)
- The Grill At Lisbon
If you have any business or organization that would be a great partner with us, please reach out to me.
Mrs. Anoff

Two Programs Offered in Partnership with HCDrugFree
Free Parenting Classes - We are well aware of the ever-increasing pressures placed on students. The academic demands, social challenges, and rapidly changing world can be overwhelming. Guiding Good Choices parenting classes can equip parents and/or grandparents with the knowledge and skills to reduce the risk that their children will use drugs and alcohol or engage in other dangerous behaviors. These classes are for families with children 9 - 14 yrs. old and held over Zoom.
Medication and Sharps Disposal Take Back Day - October 28 in the Wilde Lake Village Center Parking Lot from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Safely dispose of prescription medication, over-the-counter meds, sharps, vitamins, pet meds, vape devices, inhalers, and more! Also, 100 medication lockboxes purchased by HCPSS will be given away for FREE!
Information Worth Repeating
Join us at our Fall Festival and 1st Annual PTA Community Parade on October 27th!
As part of our school system’s commitment to equity and inclusion, we continue to focus on building community and creating welcoming environments for all students.
This year at Lisbon, we are excited to announce that we will celebrate Halloween with our awesome PTA at our 1st Annual PTA Community Parade! We will kick off this year's Fall Festival events with our Lisbon Community Parade at 5:30 p.m.
This year's Fall Festival is being held on Friday, October 27. See more in the PTA section about how you can get involved! Please note that we will not hold Halloween parties or a parade during the school day. Students should not bring or wear costumes to school.
Attendance Matters!
Research is clear that showing up for school has a huge impact on a student’s academic and social success, starting from pre-kindergarten and continuing through high school.
- Missing 10% (or about 18 days of a school year or 2 a month) can drastically affect a student’s academic success at each grade level.
- By the 6th grade, absenteeism is one of three signs that can indicate if a student is at risk for dropping out of high school.
- In the 9th grade, regular and high levels of attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates than 8th grade test scores.
Please review Policy 9010: https://policy.hcpss.org/9000/9010/
If your student is absent or will be absent, please contact us at the following email address to explain the reason: lesabsence@hcpss.org. In the email please Include the following information:
- Student First and Last Name
- Grade
- Reason for absence (e.g., illness, bereavement, observance of a religious holiday, lack of transportation)
Discretionary Days
HCPSS students are granted 3 days a year to use at their discretion for family trips, civic engagement, and other special events.
- Such absences may not occur during exam or state-mandated testing periods unless authorized by the principal/designee.
- A written request for such absences to be lawful/excused should be submitted at least one week in advance to the principal/designee. Please download the PDF fillable Discretionary Absence Form and email it to: lesabsence@hcpss.org. The form is also available in Chinese, Korean, and Spanish
- If you are requesting a day for a religious holiday not identified by the Howard County Public School System school calendar, please download the PDF fillable Religious Obligation Form and email it to lesabsence@hcpss.org.
Thank you for your efforts!
