Meditate on Mystery
Many of us have a regular meditation practice, a time we set aside to more intentionally center and open ourselves. So why not make mystery the focus of one or two of your meditations this month?!
Try watching the video below as the focal point for your meditation:
Notes From the Board
Employee Performance Assessment
The Board realizes that we have not assessed the performance of our employees since the pandemic. We are generally happy with our staff, but they deserve recognition and feedback on the jobs they do for us. Marty Quish, Paul Utts, and Kit Marlowe will complete these evaluations during December and January.
Staff are completing self- and 360-degree evaluations. The committee also needs to hear from members and friends. If you wish to share observations about any of our employees with the committee, send us a message at board@uucsjs.org. There is no form or rigid format. Just let us know whatever you think we need to know.
Announcements
From Building & Grounds
Due to the recent deluge please DO NOT PARK on either side of the driveway on the grassy areas!!! This area is very swamp-like and we don't want anyone to get their vehicle stuck there. The rest of the churchyard is quite swampy too. Should the lot get full folks can park on either side of the driveway parallel to the side but be careful getting out on the grassy side!!
January's Greenlight Coffeehouse
Next month's Greenlight Coffeehouse will be held on the FIRST Friday of the month - January 5, 2024 from 7-9pm (doors open at 6:30pm).
Please contact Katy Cardwell if you would like to perform.

Featured Resource: Mosaic Resource Hub
The Mosaic is an online hub of connection, resources, and support for Unitarian Universalists dismantling racism and oppression. Through resources, programs, training, groups, and gatherings, The Mosaic fosters belonging and liberation in Unitarian Universalist congregations and communities. Our work for collective liberation can be as colorful, multi-faceted, and diverse as the tiles of a mosaic.
One resource congregational leaders may find helpful are the Learning and Practice Groups. Mosaic Skill-up Learning and Practice Communities are facilitated small group experiences helping leaders develop the skills and accountability they need to engage in effective anti-racism transformation work in their context. These 90-minute virtual gatherings (meeting approximately twice a month over 4 months) include a mix of learning from trusted voices in the movement toward anti-racism transformation. By participating in a skill-up group you will form meaningful connections, receive support and feedback as you implement your learnings, and tend to your own spiritual well being.
The purpose of the gathering is to deepen our collective understanding and skills around issues related to transformation work; build community through connecting individuals and congregations across our movement; and help us stay rooted in our Unitarian Universalist tradition.
