Principal's Message
While the beginning of May brings us a step closer to the end of the school year, PPHS is kicking into high gear. This month marks the beginning of Advance Placement testing for students taking AP courses as well as the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) for grades 7-11. You can find a copy of the parent notification letter we sent for AP here and NJSLA here. Please encourage your children to try their best on these assessments. Receiving certain scores in AP could mean earning college credit which saves time and money while putting students ahead of the curve when they start college. As for the NJSLA, these scores could be used as a graduation pathway when students reach their senior year and will be a factor in determining placement for next year. In short, we know that our students can achieve success when they put their best foot forward. Let's cheer them on and encourage them as they sprint through the "finish line."
With Tiger Pride.
Mr. Andrew Garcia

Congrats to the newly inducted Junior National Honor Society and National Honor Soiety members. Your hard work and dedication has paid off. We are proud of you!
Student 5% Growth Target
Linkit! Form C benchmark was adminstered in March. This is one of the tools in our arsenal that allows us to be more efficient in classrooms and gauge student progress. Students who demonstrated a 5% growth or more from Form A (fall) to Form C (spring) earned a free period and an ice cream cone from Mr. Softy. Congrats to the 302 students who reached the goal! Mr. Softy will visit PPHS in May. Stay tuned for a picture of the event in our next newsletter.
NY Philharmonic Orchestra Field Trip
Our students took a trip to NYC to see the dress rehearsal for the Philharmonic Orchestra at Lincoln Center. What agreat opportunity for our students!
Pep Rally
PPHS celebrated our student athletes during our Spring Pep Rally on Friday, April 28th. The pep rally was a culmination of Spirit Week events during which grade levels battled to earn Tiger Cup points. Aftern the points were tallied, the Seniors, Class of 2023, were crowned the first ever annual Tiger Cup winners! Thank you to Mrs. Turro (senior class advisor), Mr. E (Ath. Director), custodial team, teachers, and students for making this event great!
Tigers at Work Trip
Mrs. Fiorentino's Tigers at Work class visited Kormit to learn about textile printing as part of their work-based learning program! Students had an opportunity to tour the facility, speak with employees, and design and make their own t-shirts!
Teacher of the Year!
Congratulations to our Teacher Of The Year, Ms. Dellosa. Your dedication to our students is endless and your love for our school and community is appreciated! Great Work!

These students are not only dedicated to their sport and club but to our community. You make PPHS proud!
Spanish Honor Students visit ECC
Students in Spanish 1 Honors took a trip to the ECC on 4/26. The HS students read books they created as part of a project to ECC students. It is great to see our older students helping and being positive role models for future PPHS Tigers!
